They sure are trying to get their moneys worth out of those City-capable E-Jets!

If it does [start], it will be operated by E90. And no, CRJ-900 cannot operate at LCY.

Fair enough! I’ve not seen the reports. I was asking because Regional Jet have spare aircraft after reducing services out of Tallinn and have said they will use them for ACMI contracts outside of Estonia. This could mean the aircraft could go to LOT for wetlease services out of WAW or VNO in this case.

The fact LCY can’t have CRJ-900’s makes this moot but it’s worth asking just in case.

Here’s a confirmation article about it: https://emerging-europe.com/news/lot...iness-flights/

It looks like it’s a PSO route in a unique way for the EU. LOT come out of it positively.

per airline route, NRT to go daily and some 787-9 operation. On the surface it seems to be doing pretty well the route.

LOT Polish Airlines in summer 2019 season further expands capacity on Warsaw – Tokyo Narita route, effective from 31MAR19. In addition to previously planned increase from 5 to 7 weekly, the airline will also gradually expand Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner operation, replacing -8.

Planned 787-9 service, replacing -8, as follows:
06APR19 – 04MAY19 Day 6 (Day 7 from NRT)
05MAY19 – 01JUN19 Day 26 (Day 37 from NRT)
03JUN19 – 16SEP19 Day 126 (Day 237 from NRT)
18SEP19 – 15OCT19 Day x45 (Day x56 from NRT)
16OCT19 – 26OCT19 Day x4 (Day x5 from NRT)

LO079 WAW1510 – 0840+1NRT 787 D
LO080 NRT1015 – 1425WAW 787 D

Day 24 from WAW, Day 35 from NRT is subject to Government Approval.

It starts 14JAN to be exact. I was meaning to mention this, this is linked to the reduction in direct flights out of TLL by Nordica so they are adding a extra pair of flights. Also means an extra aircraft returns home.

Any reason given as to why?

Bydgoszcz—Lviv will resume in April and indeed become a seasonal service;
Bydgoszcz—Kiev discontinued due to scarce demand;
Szymany—Lviv may resume in April and, again, 'downgraded' to seasonal service (i.e. APR-SEP).

As we speak, no changes affecting Poznań-Lviv, which was (is?) also a good candidate for the 'axe'.

All-in-all, a good move from LOT, mostly in terms of extra resources (equipment-wise) at WAW.
