Just noticed my upcoming LHR-WAW is operated by 788. Loads seem very light, so is this crew training?

I'm fairly certain they did that before. In any case, yes, crew training.

Yeah, not saying its first ever.

I might look to buy an airport upgrade.
It's on next week starting this Sunday if anyone is interested. Sometimes both the afternoon and evening services.

I remember seeing somewhere that a 787 did WAW-TLL-WAW just to show off the aircraft.

LO certainly did BUD to show off the 787. I can't remember if they also did TLL specifically for that reason but I also heard that the route had been flown by a Dreamliner.

LO17 RZE-EWR C/W/Y 16/18 09/21 199/213

Very strong start.

TLV is doing very well on RZE. Very high LF.

LO WAW-SIN (May 17 launch)

Some more info on the upcoming WAW-SIN service, which begins next week.

That's a good blog, BTW, for anyone who is interested in SQ.

So another week has passed and its not bad in the back, but terrible in the front.

LO18 1/18 7/21 208/213
LO17 0/18 3/21 151/213

I had a chat to a RZE handling agent and there were a number of media in the forward cabins on the inaugural flights. I.e. pretty much non-rev.

It's not even that popular with staff-I guess because WAW loads are not full.

They have such a strange strategy. Despite LH only have a CR9 its cheaper to fly in Business via MUC, its now (or shortly) mostly 2xdaily (or 6x). Now of course, I know direct is more expensive but lead-in deals should be competitive to compete with LH.

Under EU rules, local airports are allowed to incentivize new routes from their airport. Meridiana skimmed about 20-30 million € off MUC opening new destinations each quarter that way. It could very well be that LOT is using this RZE route to get some money, so low loads up front don't matter much.
