Lufthansa RTW fare rule out of Australia
Hi,
Has anyone access to the rules for LH's mini RTW fare for 2015/2016. They are always hard to find but not accessible currently. I am interested in knowing which airlines can be used in particular and what are the stopover cities in North America and the fare basis for each airline in case I try to upgrade. I have used Star1 rtws in the last few years but am not visiting many cities this time so no reason to splurge when the LH or ZH prices are in the range of AUD7000. I have also steered clear of LH because of its abysmal old J seats but it appears they have been replaced now with better ones. |
I do have access via Sabre, but the rules and exceptions are complicated and span over dozens of pages, so I can't post them here.
You can assume that all Star Alliance member airlines can be used, and there are no specific stopover points. You could fly to and stop in very small and very remote cities. The fare basis is always the same, so you probably meant the different booking codes for each airline. It's mostly Q, but again there are many exceptions. If you don't mind to post (or PM me) your intended itinerary I can be more specific. |
Actually, it's fairly straightforward looking at the fares in Amdeus.
Here are the routing options via the Eastern Hemisphere: Code:
1 * SYD-LH/QF-BNE/PER-LH/TG-BKK-LH-JKT/KUL/SIN/HKG/SHA/ Code:
1 * SYD-LH/QF-SYD-LH/QF-NYC-LH/UA/AC-WAS/BOS/PHL/YMQ-LH- One thing to keep in mind with those fares, especially if you route via North America: Many of the routing options are valid, but from our experience at my travel agency, they often do not auto-price, thus requiring a manual pricing. So if you are using one of the online tools available to price out an itinerary you should keep in mind that these online tools most likely will only price out a fraction of what's possible on these fares. Fares via the Eastern Hemisphere are available in P/Z/D/C/J; fares via the Pacific and Atlantic in Z/D/C/J. In addition to the routing rules, keep the following flight application rules in mind: Code:
THE FARE COMPONENT MUST NOT BE ON Code:
THE FARE COMPONENT MUST NOT BE ON |
Why is TK exempt from those fares?

The OP is talking about the Mini-RTW-fares ex Australia, not the *A RTW fares however...

Thank you for the feedback.
I have confused you . I want to buy a lh mini rtw not a star special and was looking at codes to see it any flights were potentially upgradable to F. |
Thanks for the clarification - I was indeed mistaken. My impression was you wanted to buy the *A economy RTW special and upgrade to business. But you meant to buy a PRCAU/ZRFAU fare. Due to the booking classes these fares are not upgradeable to first, at least not on LH. TK does not participate, and rcs85551 already provided the valid routings.

Would someone kindly explain what an LH mini RTW is and whether it is avalable anywhere other than Australia?
I searched and found little info at a basic level. |

Just wanted to revive this thread as I'm also looking at this fare ex-Australia but in Economy and would welcome some assistance for the following itinerary:
28/4/2017 - ADL/AKL/YVR on NZ connecting to AC YVR/YYC 10/5/2017 – YYC/YVR on AC connecting to LH for YVR/FRA or MUC/LHR 25/5/2017 – LHR/FRA/BKK or SIN on LH connecting to HKT on either TG, 3K or MI 6/6/2017 – HKT/SIN on MI or 3K connecting to SQ SIN/ADL or direct HKT/MEL on JQ connecting to JQ/QF to ADL Different agents are giving me slightly different combinations but surprisingly the fares have varied considerably from AUD$2100 to $2300 for the basic LH fare plus add-ons to a whopping AUD$4113 for an all inclusive ticket:confused:. FYI, the $4113 was based on: NZ - ADL/AKL/YVR AC - YVR/YYC/YYC LH - YVR/FRA/LHR/FRA/SIN MI - SIN/HKT/SIN SQ - SIN/ADL Would anyone be able to provide me with the link for the economy fare rules and be able to suggest what the fare actually should be. In comparison, I have also done some searching online and found the following as a comparison which other than going via Sydney both directions seems more direct. For Adelaide to Calgary using aircanada.com.au: 25/4/17 – ADL/SYD/YVR/YYC (QF730/AC034/AC206) 9/5/17 – YYC/LHR (AC850) $1872.48 AUD For London to Phuket to Adelaide using emirates.com.au: 31/5/17 – LGW/DXB/HKT(EK010/EK378) 11/6/17 – HKT/BKK/SYD/ADL (EK4549/EK418/EK5747) GBP 660.01 = approx. $1054 Any help or suggestions appreciated.:) |
TBH, I am not sure, but I think it was available only in business and first, but will be happy if anyone proves me wrong... I also think that NZ was/is not available on that fare...

Just got an update from a travel agent and they have quoted a fare of $2049 for the following routing using this Lufthansa fare in economy:
28/4/2017 - ADL/AKL/YVR {NZ} 10/5/2017 - YVR/FRA/LHR {LH} 25/5/2017 - LHR/FRA/BKK {LH} 06/6/2017 - BKK/MEL {JQ} While I will still need to add-on YVR/YYC/YVR and BKK/HKT/BKK, this seems pretty good value compared to the normal *A RTW. I'm just waiting to see if I can fly SIN/ADL on SQ instead rather than going via MEL. |
