And just like magic, back on the original jet, and back in the original seat. I figured it would be an Altea thing, though it could also be a nice gate agent thing.

They were well busy with the there and back right now though, no reseating I could notice (except the couple inevitable staff C seatings)

The YR fee that LOT are charging seems to have upset things at the OTA front.

I'm more surprised about the cost of domestic flights overall which is up significantly. With Basia you've no idea if its fat fingers, stupidity or some bright new strategy to ensure Mr Budka gets a front-row seat.

Pricing up flights to LHR, LH are cheaper in Y by around 25% and no issues leaving late on Sundays where LO's 280 is always expensive. On the C front, LO is 15% more, while earning 40 fewer QP plus all flights on LH in C not two in Y. I consider MUC just as good as WAW, in fact, less of a faff as there's no second security check.

16 rows of C on LO1380 to SXB today, 31/31 pax in C. You see, Basia can have huge C cabins...when there's an opportunity for the political class to do what they do best. The most profitable flight on the network? :D

Lowest fare is 6200zl return but many book it as a one-way, around 5000 each way to make sure they don't end up in Z... (fewer HON Miles).

I’m looking at a LO flight which shows as 737 Max 8 (not 737 800), but in C on the website there is no row 1 on the right (in other words, no 1D or 1F.) Is that right? I thought 737 800 have no 1D and 1F, but 737 Max 8 do have them…

It's correct. It's one of the ex-Blue Air (0B) aircraft, SP-LVG through M (no J). They're in the highest density seating 189. The right side bulkhead is 2DEF.

I hope its a short flight? They're not pleasant.

Interesting that they know now (some weeks in advance) that this one aircraft will be scheduled for that particular flight.

I guess if that one aircraft isn’t used, they can swap it for a 737 800, depending on loads.

A quick look at Flight Radar suggests this aircraft is currently used for flights that aren’t very short at all! NQZ, HRG, DXB, and also LHR, so the front rows must be used for C class, I’m guessing…

No, you misunderstood or I wasn't clear enough. It's SP-LVG/H/I/K/L/M. Those are the 189 configured, LCC aircraft.

They're swapped frequently between the original 5 LO MAX and the 738.

Ah OK… Get it now, thanks.

LO have a lot of different configs between different airplanes. They must have notional assignments way in advance.

Of course changing them left and right is nothing unusual. LO is good at that.

I’m in a similar situation to you about flying with LO. I’ve noticed for some flights LH is better priced (and often better timed). I suspect LO has closed off lower booking classes from date of availability.

App Issues

Possibly already mentioned elsewhere but I’ve noticed that, since the latest update(s), the app won’t let you amend check-in once finalised, plus (bizarrely) it is displaying the Boarding passes tab, even though check-in has not even remotely open, let alone completed (see screenshot below). On a brighter note, I had a few positive interactions with customer services recently, always very quick to get through and, likewise, swift and knowledgeably supportive. OT and largely outside of Basia’s control, the weather here in Warsaw is miserable to say the least, which is demoralising, especially when I’m getting reports that temperatures back home are bordering +16C…

The App was and is still useless. It offers me only two features of note, one of which is accidental when they updated it. I can open the booking fairly quickly and notice that seat reservations dropped off because the aircraft was changed and secondly, it enables mobile boarding passes in stations that are on Altea but don't offer mobile BP- this is purely by accident. They made it worse by removing the ability to go back into checkin once a BP is issued.

Sometimes PNR's get removed from the online account so it's not even that great for keeping a record of your PNR's.

For seat changes post-OLCI, you're better off saving the OLCI link to your phone https://checkin.si.amadeus.net/stati...identification and then you can change your seat once you're checked in much quicker and easier. Btw, you can change the two letter carrier code to the likes of A3, TP, JL, AY, MS, ME etc who all use the same out of the box setup.

FlyerLX Feb 5, 2024 10:46 pm

Is it intentional in the LO app that I can’t seem to change seat allocations once they are set at the time of booking? Or is it just me being a technophobe?…

hugolover Feb 5, 2024 11:03 pm

It’s not possible on the LOT site nor app. You need to call. Only if the seats become unconfirmed can you choose them again. Years ago, the SAS site was the way around this.

Perhaps someone read my post (🐷✈️) or fat finger mistakes were fixed as domestic prices have resolved. Maybe things are a bit unstable as they use the NDC.
