What is your favorite car service from Orange County to LAX

Voiture de IceTrojan.
If you can drive yourself, you can easily get a one way rental, and it will be cheaper than any service, cab, or shuttle.
If you get a quote.... let me know, and you can pay me $5 less

They will pick you up at your residence at time you designate and will also pick you up at the airport after calling their dispatch. At airport I've never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes.
Back in 2004, cost from Orange County to LAX was $79. Not sure what it is now with ga$ price$ at their current level$. This price was for a van, but sometimes they'll pick you up with a Lincoln Town Car depending on availability. Or you can request the town car for more $

Definitely second this. We live in South O.C. and think the shuttle prices from our home to LAX are ridiculous. IF we were to consider a shuttle, we would park at my Mom's in Seal Beach and have a pick up there. 95% of the time, I get a one-way rental car (pick up SNA, drop off LAX) and generally do the same on our return. We get a rental car for anything from $23 to $43. Still come out ahead of the shuttles and don't have to be ready for the shuttle an extra 2-3 hours early

I like Bob Belair's Towncar Service (714 536-0027). Bob's a retired sheriff that runs a few immaculate Lincoln Towncars. I used to use him all the time --he's less expensive than anyone else, 100% reliable, and he and his wife are great people.

2009 Quotes
Just had occasion to get some quotes from LAX to the Hyatt Newport Beach and thought I would post an update:
Back Bay Limousine
http://www.bookgold.net/
$138 for towncar
Advantage Ground Transportation
http://www.agtcorp.com/
$112.35 for private van, incl tip
The Limousine Experience
http://www.limoexp.com/
$125.00 for towncar, excl tip
Gold Key Limousine
http://www.goldkeylimo.com/
went to voicemail, which was full
(I didn't try calling Bob )
For comparison, SuperShuttle quotes as $51 for a shared van, $116 for a private van, $70 for "Business Express Svc by ExecuCarExpress", and $117 for "ExecuCar Sedan Service Meet and Greet"
Based on mileage and surcharges, a taxicab should run about $126 at the published fare.
Edited 11/16 to add: I went with Advantage and they were great. I was picked up within 10 min of calling and had a nice towncar.
