Magic Castle - can someone help me get in?
I am traveling to LA with my family next week and would like to go to the Magic Castle for brunch on Saturday.
We are not planning on staying at the Magic Castle hotel so we need a member to "sponsor" us so we can dine there and enjoy the experience. I know my kids would LOVE the experience and my wife and I really enjoy Victorian architecture and have been dying to see inside the castle for years. - Shane |
Have you tried calling? I ask only because many years ago I wad also interested in having dinner there and at the time they seemed willing to make an exception for a special occasion. I believe there is still a strict dress code also so be prepared.

Magic Castle
Any FT magicians who are members of the magic castle who would be willing to sponsor us to go? It would be for 3 people in august.
Thanks! ! |
You do know that you can call and just ask for reservations, right? Alternatively if you stay at The Magic Castle Hotel, admission to the club is included.

There web site says you must be a member or have a member's card.:confused::confused: |
Having a member sponsor you makes things easier but AFAIK, you can call and ask for reservations, and it's been that way for many years also. Without a member guesting you in, there will be a cover charge.
The website info might be a bit of misdirection to keep them from being overrun with regular joes but it is very possible to get in without a member's assistance. I might suggest mentioning that it's a birthday, anniversary, or some special occasion. |
I will give it a try....that's news to me. I have gone with a member's sponsor and still had to pay the cover charge.
|
Nope. ..rules have not changed. I called and it is still a private club with admission only by a member sponsoring.
|
I've always thought it was only with a member (or as a guest of the hotel) and this the first time I've read/heard it suggested otherwise.
|
I will stand corrected, although I seem to remember calling many years ago about having dinner there for a birthday and I seem to remember it being okay as long as it was a slower week night. I have been as the guest of a member but I was under the impression the night that I was there that there were quite a few just regular folks there as well.
|
The regular folks had the member call and make their reservation. That's how I have been many times. But I no longer know a member.

Magic Castle
My sister & BIL are coming for a visit at the end of the month and I have lost my magician connection. We have all gone many times but it is still so special.
Any magicians out there who could help me out? Thanks |

HI Corky,
PM me for an email invite. I'm on the east coast, so unfortunately won't be able to just guest you in without cover charge or dinner reservations. Cheers, -Cyborg Let me know when you are out this way---would love to go when you are there! |
