LATAM Business Class Check In, Oneworld Ruby
 
Hi All,

Just had an interesting experience at LATAM Business Class Check in at SCL.

I'm traveling in Y to MDZ and I'm Oneworld Ruby (Qantas Silver) and one of the few perks is the business class check in which is quite nice at SCL.

The agent would only check my bag and not my partner's even though we are both on the same PNR. They made her go back to economy check in.
When we tried to complain she told me the benefit only applies to me and I can check it on the website.

We've done quite a few flights with Oneworld over the last 4 months and this is the first time we haven't been able to check in together.

Thoughts?

Interestingly it’s not listed anywhere on QFF, Latam pass, oneworld etc as a companion benefit. However I know back in my early QFF days I took my partner to business class check in with me (as a silver). Maybe it is discretionary?

after a few years in LATAMpass I learned not to expect too much. This particular iteration does seem a little ridiculous though

Yes, officially the benefit is for Ruby elite only, it applies to companion from Sapphire elite +. In practice the agents probably aren't too strict about this, but YMMV.

priority check in is just for you since you're just Ruby/Gold LATAM. If you were Sapphire/Emerald your companion could use it too.
