LanPass statement - improvement

Nice, LP statement now has a "see details" link showing the tix number, code, name, flights. Nice improvement, well done LAN ^

Hmmm, can't see that on the US site yet.
I'll be happy to see it when it makes it here.

Of course the question is was the website really LAN? Given their usual tendencies I'm kind of surprised that something to improve the customer experience actually happened!

Just checked 2 accounts: a Comodoro and just regular LP member accounts. Both showed the improvement on both USA and Peru sites. Look for the blue link “See Details” under the Description column.

I understand you have a general negativity posting about Lan, probably for some pretty valid reasons. But to suggest Lan has not made improvements might be a little unfair. My experience over the recent years is there has been many improvements. Especially for upper tiers. And, in a reverse kind of way, while other FFPs are being drastically devalued recently LP has not done that yet. Knock on wood.

Maybe off-topic, but with the new statement page all of my segments just got recalculated for fare class, and now I'm ~20K kms from Premium Silver vs. ~1.5K kms a couple days ago . Should I just transfer all my flights to AA? At least with them I'll get 100% of kms flow.

Also, no details in any country website.

This is an odd assertion Mr Bingo. This year LAN reduced earning on discount economy North America and Europe tickets from 100% to 25%. For anyone buying those tickets, how is that anything other than a devaluation?

Right you are, fair enough. Other airlines have reduced earns for cheaper fares too and X fare on LP has been 25% for a while. Costs less but earns fewer kms. My thoughts were more “devaluation” where you have a fistfull of points for a trip then they change the reward chart, effectively devaluing the points you have already earned, not the ones you may or may not earn in the future.

My thinking is that for sure LAN has changed the LPass program, but not drastically, more a tweaking. It seems they are making it worse for lower tiers or cheapest fare earns, fly their metal etc. but making better for the upper tiers. A rebalancing more than a gutting. A 20% discount on award kms needed, 150% bonus for Biz tix, ganas mas bonus, prem econ counting as special segments, free preferred seats, free award changes. Making it better for upper tiers or upper fares and worse for the lower tiers and lower fares. Which makes sense to keep your program floating well enough to reward your better clients. At least in comparision to other FFPs (i.e. Air Canada), where the programs are becoming almost useless. LAN isn't there yet.

Ah, figured it out, why some people do not see the new information. Bet it is because they have not redeemed or flown any LanPass flights. The improvement is “See Details” blue link (telling Ticket Number, Reservation code, Pax Name, and Route) is for LanPass flights. Revenue flights remain as always.

Another kind of related improvement (actual and real) is the email I got from LAN last week telling me that my kms had posted before I checked them.

Another surprise from LAN CS, actual Service!

Called to ask about getting credit for a 6+ hours delay from BOG to MIA that LAN rebooked after messing up a baggage interline. Missed the AA leg from MIA to LAX but LAN put me in J on Avianca on their own to make sure I didn't miss the Transpac connection. Didn't get the credit promised in BOG so called LAN and got a rather confused newbie who sent me to a spanish speaking specialist and then things disappeared in to the LAN phone system. Called from LAX the next afternoon and the nice gentleman said "No problem, I can see the ticket and the kms should be in your account in 24-48 hours." Surprisingly they were there when I got to HKG, less than 24 hours. Should I be buying lottery tickets or has something positive finally happened in the LAN CS department?

Well, I have seen some random improvements, nothing pervasive yet. For example, I lodged a minor complaint, got a confirmation a few days later, then a response a few days later. They said not a problem we normally compensate for, but in this case 10k kms will be credited to your account (and improvement) and yet nothing in my account a week later (not an improvement).
