airfare

Is it possible to get a flight to las vegas without using my total rewards credits? I have a platinum but do not have enough to use it for the travel and would not want to use them anyway. However I do need to book a flight to las vegas March 5 or 6th, and return on March 13-14th.

Airfare comps are done two ways. First, there is the occasional junket offer. You would get a letter or phone call giving you an offer for a specific date. Second, airfare can be reimbursed at the end of your trip. You would need to be a lot bigger player to get that (Seven Stars level).

How big of a player do you need to be to get airfare reimbursement from places like the Wynn and Venetian?

The amount needed for airfare comp varies greatly due to uncertainty in the economy, gambling futures and airfare itself. For a definitive answer to your question you should call the casinos and and ask for casino marketing. They will give you a good approximation. Get a name when you get your info and ask for him/her when you get to Las Vegas.
The way things are going now I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the amount necessary. They really want you there!

Good Luck!
