Sorry, didn't have time to report back earlier. In addition to my stay over Super Bowl weekend, I am finishing up my second stay here over the first rounds of March Madness. I got a chance to stay in the West Tower in a SE-facing wraparound over SB Sunday and now am in the East Tower in a NE-facing wraparound, so I've gotten to experience both towers....

Thanks for the awesome write up ^. I've wanted to try this place out but seeing as I haven't stayed in Aria's Sky Suites or Encore yet I have a feeling Cosmo will have to take the back seat for now. I like the decor from what I see on various online reviews but service, housekeeping, and consistency is fairly important to me. Would you agree or should I give Cosmo a chance for my next trip?

Just got back from a weekend trip to the Cosmopolitan.
Highs: The views really are amazing from the terraces. It's such cultural shift to be in LV and have a hotel room where you can walk out on to the balcony. The wife and I had dinner delivered by room service one night and ate out on the terrace. It was terrific. The wraparound terrace suites are huge. You might not use all of the amenities, there is a cooktop and an oven, but no pots or pans, but it's nice to have a full fridge for leftovers. I thought the pools were very nice, and very family friendly during the day. The casino is on the small side (no poker room), but that didn't bother me. There are a number of good restaurants, including Holstein's, where I had one of the best burger/fries/shake combos I've ever had. There is an underground parking garage which we take for granted at home, but is a rarity in LV. It's a godsend to not have to park and then do the traditional walk through the casino to get to your room; instead, you just take the elevators to either the casino floor or the restaurant floor, and then change from the garage bank elevators to the room bank elevators. A small thing, but awesome. Also, I saw Phil Ivey one day just strolling through and went weak in the knees like a 13 year girl seeing a pop star in their prime. Lows: It's very noisy. When they started cranking up the pool parties in the evening, the glasses in the suite were actually vibrating. I called down to the front desk and they suggested earplugs. Closing the door to the bedroom helped a little, but not much. The billing system is also a mess. I'm still trying to clean up my folio after there were a number of "mystery" charges that didn't belong on the bill. But the bottom line is I was impressed with the hotel and would definitely stay there again. |
Cosmo 1 bedroom terrace or suite?
Hi all, I'm going to las Vegas in Sept, for & 5 night stay. Looking forward to visit the Cosmopolitan. I want a room on a high floor looking North to the Bellagio fountains. I'm hesitating between a 1 bedroom terrace or a suite (not the wraparound suite)? There is quite a price difference between the 2, and I wanted to know if the suite was realy worth the extra money? I have seen the vids on youtube, and I do prefer the japanese tub next to the window in the 1 bedroom. But that isn't a soaking tube and the suite has one I believe? (allthough not looking outside). Anyway, my ultimate goal would be to get the wraparound suite, but I wonder how much the upgrade would cost me when trying a let's say 100$ sandwich during check-in. Last question : are the standard suites also available in the east tower? I guess the east tower has the best views of the strip right? So have people here been in the 1 bedroom, and the suite? Gimme your opinions please. Thanks! |
From what I've read the wraparound terraces are generating such a buzz that they are receiving very occupation levels. I'd be careful about gambling on an upgrade for the.

I stayed at the Cosmopolitan July 5-8 and it was great.
Checking in took longer than it should have (about 15 minutes) especially since I arrived on a Tuesday. However things quickly changed as I requested at the front desk to have the mini bar cleared and it was cleared out by the time I walked into my room, which took maybe 5 minutes. My room was in the west tower (I'm a light sleeper) and I didn't have any problems with noise. I had a view of Aria, MGM, and other hotels along that side of the strip. Also, walking to the east side of the hotel (which is primarily where the bars and restaurants are) was not a far walk at all. I ate breakfast at the Henry and it was really good, the Wicked Spoon buffet for brunch is also excellent. Holsteins is a must if you're a burger lover! The pizza place was also good, and it isn't so secret anymore as it is on the map they give you when you check in. Went to the Chandelier bar and it was ok, bit of an older crowd. I liked Bond a lot better. I really don't write reviews often so I'm sure I left stuff out. If you have any other questions just message me |
hi, thx for the review. Any pics or videos you could share? Cheers.

I was in Comso wrap-around with an attached 1-bdrm terrace suite for my cousin in May for the Pacquiao fight. The room was absolutely fantastic. I read a lot about people having issues with checkins and the room amenities, but I had no problems. I checked in on Wednesday morning at 9:30am and they had open the wrap-around, but the attached room wasn't available until later. This was fine since my cousin and his GF did not arrive until evening.
The wrap-around was in the east tower and north-east facing. So I have the view of the fountains and around the corner down to the MGM. When I walked in it blew my mind how perfect it was. May is a great temperature month and the wife took a couple of "regain Vegas energy" naps out on the balcony throughout the weekend. She loved the place so much I just got approval to book a September trip back at Cosmo. I booked a lesser room, but arriving on a Sunday so hoping to ask and receive an upgrade. Notes about the property. #1: Don't have a really great gambling day and then hit the pool but forget you put your cellphone in the cargo pockets of your bathing shorts. It is expensive to buy a replacement iPhone ;) #2: The dealers were super friendly. Obviously so compared to other places I played at that weekend. The CWs were on point also with refills coming almost exactly as I was emptying a drink. And this was without an upfront tip (thought as I realized how good the service was, I up'd my normal tip as a thank you) #3: Hoelsteins is a great burger joint. Ended up there twice over the weekend. And the pizza joint is perfect for sopping up a booze soaked belly from a long run at the tables or VP. #4: The pools are nice, but relatively small and can get crowded. I loved the TV area near the pools with the foosball tables though. #5: The chandelier is something you just have to see in person. It is amazing. Also the bar inside the chandelier has a ton of great drinks. I recommend asking the bartender to serve his/her favorite and just let them knock it out of the park. Ask questions if you have them. |
Hi,
Did you book the wraparound direct, or did you upgrade during checkin? (and tried the trick?) Regards, Mobi

Can someone guide me as to the best way to get from the Bellagio Lobby to the Cosmo Lobby? I don't think it makes sense to wonder back towards the tram to Aria from near Bellagio Spa Tower. Trying to make lunch at Milos as many times as possible during my conference at Bellagio
|
From the Bellagio lobby head outside and veer off to the right.
There's an escalator up that takes you up to a moving walkway that will take you to the strip along the south side of the driveway. At the end of the walkway are stairs down, the entrance to Cosmo is right there. Milos is up on the Third floor, there's escalators up a little ways through the casino |

Am I an idiot?
I have been waiting to book a 1 bedroom terrace room for a 5 night stay in September. Since there were no promo's for september I waited until now. Now the problem : Back in May the price for 5 nights tax included was 1100$. Today I look on the Cosmo website and the same room, same date costs 1282$. Is it the closer you get to the travel date the higher the room price? I feel really stupid now.... I think I should have booked the room in May without promo. Would it be best to wait unril beginning Sept to book this room, or will prices only get higher? |
They don't have cancellation fees do they? There's generally no harm in booking now, and then looking for a better price later.
