Waldorf or Venetian
I'm looking at visiting Vegas now, and am trying to decide between the Waldorf [Hilton Diamond so $50/ day F&B credit and upgrade] for 62,000 Hilton points or Venetian suite for $171 all in [including taxes and $45 resort fee].
It seems to me that the Venetian paid rate is a really great deal, and I'm leaning in that direction. I have stayed at the Venetian before, but have not stayed at the Waldorf before. Anyone have any insight on which property to choose, or if there's another one to consider [paid rate or Hilton points] for a mid week stay in November? The Wynn was in the $300 range, but I don't love its location. |
I'd probably take Venetian at those rates. I've replied to your questions on the WA in the Hilton forum thread you posted in. WA's a nice property (arguably more upscale than Venetian in some subtle ways, like having a valet closet) but they're not likely to give you a full suite just because you're a Diamond (the upgrade from base level room is "strip view")- every room is a 750+ sq. ft suite at Venetian (though arguably a junior suite for a lot of them since the living area isn't walled off from the bedroom).
Also, Venetian's F/B is likely to be a lot more active/available than WA's in mornings, though note that Palazzo (Venetian's sister property) is closed M-Th, so keep your expectations low. |

Four Seasons
Thank you all!
While the Venetian seems to clearly be a better choice than the Waldorf, I'm leaning in the direction of staying at the Four Seasons. Rates are very low ($200 base rate/ night plus tax and $45 fee). Any other properties to consider? |

I don't think I have that permission.

The owner of the Venetian, Sheldon Adelson, is a VERY big supporter/donor to the GOP, including the current President. It's possible that information may influence your decision one way or the other.

After all of my research, I've decided on the Four Seasons. Coupled with the Four Seasons Preferred Partner program benefits, and competitive rates, from the research I've done, they are by far the most highly recommended. |

i have stayed at the four seasons a few times and regularly at Mandalay and Delano. Be aware that the FS is at the far end of the strip. Depending on your plans, it may or may not matter but not much is walkable from there.
