I figure I'm screwed because I initialed and signed the room rates the receptionist put on the receipt. The only way I'm getting out of this is if they overcharged for the purpose of incidentals. I mean, it's going on the taxes as a business expense. And it's my fault for not paying attention. But it's short of bill shock and a bad way to start my CES trip. [PS: When I stay at hotels in the MGM group, my rooms are always comped=$0, yet the bill at check in shows a rate of $120 per night, when questioned about this, the agent says this is for booking reasons.] |
Going
Jan 5 to 9 - Venetian. Can't decide if I should do the $20 check-in/upgrade trick. I've never done it before, and in my experience, pretty much all rooms in the Venetian are the same, plus they'll be seriously booked this week.

I arrive tomorrow and return home sunday afternoon. I'm at TI this trip. I like the vibe now that MGM doesn't own it any longer.

Grrhhh, did I get ripped off by the Monte Carlo?
When I booked my hotel in August, they said the total would be $645. When I checked in 2 hours ago, I signed the receipt without looking at the rates the woman wrote down. I was tired from traveling. Got up to the room and they charged some $900 to my CC. Did I get screwed or are they just overcharging in case I run up a room service bill? |
