Isn't that half an hour before the gate opens of the first flight?

Edit:
It's listed on KL's website. Schengen lounge from 4.45 till 21.00. Non-Schengen from 4.45 till departure of the latest flight.

It doesn't always work like this in practice. The other week, when there were significant delays at AMS, KLM (tried to) close the non-Schengen lounge at 21:00, despite it being full of passengers still waiting for their delayed flight.

Go into the city if you are eligible for a tourist-visa. Very easy by train.

Sounds like a question for Johan Rebel. He, apparently, wanders around the AMS terminals quite a bit so should have an answer for you

Not something I would recommend to adventurous adrenaline junkies, but I find that a 2 to 3 km brisk walk is just the thing before retiring for the night.

Wanted to bump - I am transiting AMS in C next week from non-schengen to schengen. Is one lounge better/nicer showers/less crowded than the other at a particular time of day? I will be outbound in the morning (arriving 6am, departing 9:30am) and returning in the evening (arriving 1:30pm leaving 5:45pm).

Thanks!

The non Schengen lounge is better, but only in details. Crowds go in waves in both lounges.

I have an 8 hour layover in AMS on my way home from BAH later this month. I actually planned this since I have never been in Amsterdam (just the airport). I plan on taking the train into the city and visit the Anne Frank House.

Make sure you have made reservations - The museum is wildly popular and during busy hours there is a _long_ queue if you dont have tickets.
