Middle Name Error
Hi there,
My colleague at work has booked with KLM to Cape Town. He booked via Expedia and the confirmation showed the names like this: PAUL BOOKER MARY BOOKER DANIEL BOOKER When he logged in to KLM to add his "Advance Passenger Data" it showed as PAUL ANDREW BOOKER MARY JANE BOOKER DANIEL MATTHE BOOKER - of course, this should be "Matthew". He doesn't think he mistyped but of course it is a possibility. Should he call KLM and alert them to this and possible charges, or just go to the airport? All the first names and surnames are correct btw. Thanks for your help. |
This will in all likelihood not be a problem.
The first name matches, middle names are rare on reservations anyway. I have had typo's and mistakes with first and middle name and never had an issue. The last name and first few letters of the first name are what matters. If you call KLM they will refer you to Expedia who might issue new tickets for the full cost of reissue! Aside: can he edit the APD at klm.com? You can't edit first and last names but might be able to edit/correct/delete a middle name. |
Won't be a problem - best even not to call. Check in on-line before and drop your bag.

I normally travel without middle name in booking so it shouldn't be an issue as it then isn't important.

Thanks for your replies! I think it has put his mind at rest.
