Yes, the points are automatically redeposited. The segment fee of $5.60 will go into a travel bank account for future use.

Not anymore. The $5.60 fee is now refunded upon cancellation (or at least it's supposed to). This change came about when they made a change where you couldn't use travel bank funds to pay for award ticket fees anymore.

Show me cause I don't believe it. I book tickets with points. Pay the fees and taxes with my credit card (cash). Cancel the flight. Taxes and fees go to my travel bank instead of my credit card. They can then be used to pay taxes and fees on the next booking. Except if you don't have enough cash in your travel bank and can't use three different payment methods (points, credit card, travel bank) because their IT is incompetent. I just went through this I didn't get any refund to me credit card.

Has TrueBlue fixed this IT incompetence? Makes their miles not competitive with AA/DL/UA/WN.

Yes. I recently cancelled and rebooked a points flight because they had a points redemption sale. When you cancel, the $5.60 for taxes now goes back to Travel Bank, and when you rebook, it will let you pay the $5.60 in taxes out of travel bank.

I am also curious whether anyone was able to request to have the taxes/fees refunded to original form of payment rather than Travel Bank. Do you call JetBlue for this?
