The biggest Mosiac benefit is the same-day change (especially now that it can be done 24 hours from the original departure time). By booking the cheapest flight of the day and then switching to the one I actually want I save thousands of dollars a year. I value this more than any of the loyalty perks offered by the legacy carriers.

For those accumulating Base points to make Mosaic, I received a wake up call when I checked my point total after a Mint trip JFK-LHR.
Total round trip fare: $1,985.05. Taxes and Fees were $1685.05. Base fare was $300.00 Therefore, I will receive 900 base points (3X300) on the total $1,985.05 spend. Not a great outcome. |

You may want to write in about this — other airlines grant miles on carrier-imposed surcharges (looks like YR for JetBlue, YQ elsewhere). I don't think JetBlue has ever charged them before, so this may be an IT error.

Yes, I thought about the fastrack to status ($15k credit card spend) but reached the same conclusion. Status on other airlines gets me into More Room seating at time of booking, and possibly upgrades to F. Mosaic gets me ... opportunity for a More Room seat at T-24 but I generally find that all the aisle seats are taken long before that (sometimes several weeks out). So useless for better seats. The other soft perks are also fairly worthless as I rarely check bags and have Clear/Pre-Check. Early Boarding is about the only consistent perk that has value.

The problem with airline status for CC spend is that it locks all those points into airline miles, which seem to be depreciating faster than just about anything else. Not unique to JetBlue, of course.

Hi, I'm close to getting Mosiac and wanted to clarify this point you made. So basically i can book the lowest fare available and within 24 hours, decide to switch the flight to another available one with no fee or extra cost? So if I book the cheap red eye layover which is $1000 less lets say, I can switch to the non stop originally more expensive flight within 24 hours with no cost different? That seems like a really good perk if that's the case, right? I'd probably always book the cheapest one and switch if it's not a popular route!
I'll give you an example- BOS-JFK 8pm flight costs $50 and BOS-JFK 9am flight costs $80 on a particular day. As a mosaic, you can book the cheaper BOS-JFK 8pm flight. Before 24 hours when your ticketed BOS-JFK 8pm is scheduled to depart, you can call the Mosaic desk to make a free "same day change" to the earlier (and more expensive) BOS-JFK 9am flight thus saving you $30. The only consideration to keep in mind is that Jetblue does not oversell flights and if the BOS-JFK 1pm flight is already sold out 24 hours before your ticketed flight is scheduled to fly, this benefit is no good to you. This wouldn't have been an issue in the past but as someone that takes advantage of the free 24 hour before departure free same day flight change, I recently almost lost the ability to change to my desired flights due to lower frequency, higher load factors post-COVID flight scheduling (which would have been disastrous as I was using Jetblue to position for international business redemption flights on a different ticket).

Mosaic certainly has been devalued.W ith the increase in fees for more space seats and everyone now getting free changes to tickets there is little value to Mosaic. That said ,I sometimes use the 70lb baggage limit when travelling internationally and I have found that I also do get the free EMS seats at day of check in. I am 4 for 4 as far as getting the setas for free.In fact I have not had anyone beside me on the EMS upgrades that i have recived recently.

That isn't correct. What OP meant was 24 hours of flight departure.

I'm also interested in this now. Could you do *all* of this at T-24? Book the cheaper flight and immediately do the same-day confirmed to the more expensive one? Also, does this work for Mint?

If "by all" you mean booking the cheaper outbound flight you want to travel within 24 hours of departure, then yes. But it's my experience that Jetblue flights are most often much cheaper booking 1-2 months in advance than buying 24 hours before departure. I have never purchased Mint but I'm sure the 24 hour "same day" complimentary change should work for Mint seats as well. You can always call and confirm with any Jetblue phone agent to be 100% certain
