https://www.airliners.net/forum/view...6927#p20809107 Changing Weber or Recaro seats to B/E seats, installation of Spaceflex lav/galley in aft, new galley and service station in the forward section, refresh forward lav, all new ceiling panels, sidewall panels, overhead bins, cabin lighting, PSUs, upgrade from LiveTV 2 to LiveTV 4 (and soon the Avant system instead), basically we bring it down to a beer can on the inside and redo everything. We just released N621JB a few days ago from SAL, N580JB just came in last night, will be there for about a month. I should be down there to see her leave too. I'm on the mod team down there. Those aircraft are in fact consistent with the refurb program, and the poster is a fairly tenured A.net poster. |
Looks like that person is correct. Seat map still shows 25 rows for N580JB, but it does show a capacity of 162 on the back end so it has been refreshed.
N766JB returned from LCQ today. I can confirm that it did not receive any cabin mods. |

There should be another one returning from LCQ 12/9 as flight 6420. I haven't been able to keep track of everything going to SAL, so I'd appreciate any updates if someone happens to see any A320s going to/from there. N509JB returned from SAL 12/2/18. This one does not appear to have the new cabin. N593JB went to SAL 12/3/18 and returned from SAL 12/7/18. That's not enough time to do a cabin refresh. A quick inventory check also shows 150 as well |
N507JT was sent to LCQ 12/9 (arrived 12/10). I have edited the wiki with this info.
Flight 6420 was expected to operate LCQ-JFK, but it looks like that never left LCQ. |

unfortunately, the E90s probably won't get much work done. They are just waiting for A220 at this point. I'm glad at least they will be fast tracking the A320 reconfigs next year with 60 estimated to be done.
This past month hasn't been a very good B6 month for me. I'm happy to be upon my holiday flying break. |
Just a fun fact about N708... I operated its last flight PBI-BOS on 11/18 before it flew BOS-SAL. The ferry pilots were actually friends of mine who I hadn't seen in a couple of years so it was nice to see them at the gate. Don't know if it'll come back as a 32M or if it's just getting ripped apart and put back together, and neither did they. After asking around I think it's just there for heavy maintenance.

I have edited the wiki to reflect N587JB being demoted back to the "To Be Updated" list. It was at LCQ for a little over two weeks, not long enough to get a cabin refresh, and I have confirmed that it did not get the cabin refresh.
N598JB arrived at LCQ 12/15. N662JB returned from Mobile 12/14. Presumed hi-rise repaint. N708JB returned from SAL yesterday. It is now in service. It did not receive the cabin refresh. Flights 6420, 6430, 6440, and 6460 have flight plans filed for tomorrow out of LCQ, and there's an additional 6430 filed for tonight. All have a destination of JFK. Of course, not all of these flights will operate. |

This is interesting. This could be a sign that the refreshes may either be slowing down or may be ending until they start with Phase 2. Planes are being cycled in to LCQ, but aren't staying long enough to have the cabin refresh done.
12/19, N506JB left LCQ for JFK and is now in service. This one was at LCQ for a whole month, so it is possible that it had received a cabin refresh, but I will have to check inventory later to see if it has updated. 12/20, N598JB left LCQ for JFK and is now in service. It was at LCQ for 5 days, so it did not receive the cabin refresh. 12/21, N507JT left LCQ for MCO and is now in service. It was at LCQ for 11 days, so it did not receive the cabin refresh. Yesterday 12/22, N594JB was sent to LCQ from JFK. So, N507JT and N598JB are being demoted back to the "to be updated" list. |

I just did an inventory check and it does indeed show 150.

N594JB left LCQ yesterday. A whopping 5 days at LCQ.

OP, thanks very much indeed for this post! The other two were buried and I went digging for them. Hoping to get one of the refits on my BOS-PBI RT coming up in Feb. Will def bring back some pics to post and a review of the EMS seats if I get lucky enough.

-J. Speaking of sharklets, are the sharklet retrofits getting done along with the cabins? I recall seeing a video once saying they could retrofit the sharklets onto an A320 in around a day and change (36 hours maybe?) Sharklets and the new seats should save B6 some of the cost they’re looking for. |
The sharklet retrofit program was done on a trial basis. I think JetBlue gave up on the program since they never did any more beyond 4 retrofits. I'm assuming that they decided that it wasn't worth it either due to cost, effort, or time out of service needed for the modifications including the wing reinforcements. Adding sharklets costs a lot of money, and generates a fuel savings of up to 4% and a range increase of up to 100nm. The fuel savings might be a decent amount, but the range increase is almost negligible.
Let me shoot that question over to someone at B6 who might know ;) Also, in other news, N632JB flew a test flight yesterday 12/30 LCQ-LCQ. |

Let me shoot that question over to someone at B6 who might know ;) Also, in other news, N632JB flew a test flight yesterday 12/30 LCQ-LCQ. I’ll ask around to a few pilot friends about the sharklet program as well. I had figured if they were doing cabin retrofits, they’d likely do the sharklets at the same time-sink a bunch of money in and reap “double” rewards so to speak (fuel+pax $) as each A320 comes back out of mod. I remember a B6 dispatcher telling me before that prior to sharklets they occasionally had winter issues (a la tech stops at DEN and SLC) on certain longer flights where that extra 100 miles would come in handy. I suppose when you couple the 100 miles with an extra 12 pax+bags and it may be less than 100. The conversion of A320neo orders to A321Neo’s could be part of it too-now that B6 has A321s on almost all the west coast routes with more A321’s on the way- they may not need the sharklets as much anymore. Another pilot told me once and I quote “we may never take another A320 again” He may very well have been correct! |
