Asking Last Name at Gate
 
Why have jerBlue agents been asking my last name at boarding? For the record I'm often the first in as one of the few, and sometimes the only Mosaic.

Strange. I haven't experienced that. Is the proper pronunciation of your last name unclear from the spelling? My only guess is that if so, they want to know how to address you.

If they are having issues with the boarding pass reader, they can track boarding manually by seat number and last name. Asking the last name of the passenger is sometimes used as a verification step.
