Totally unnecessary.

I suspect that once he was denied boarding they were obligated to refund his money.

This is different. Presumably the lower fare he had wanted to buy was no longer available, and he was now stuck trying to buy a same day walk up fare on a different airline. Giving him the refund defiantly made things worse for him, unless he decided not to fly at all.

I'm guessing he finally found a refundable ticket!^

Right! I agree. He is not allowed to flying for life. He won't change the behavior. There's is no way to give him another chance. He won't apology to JetBlue. He still banned from the airlines for life.

Yes, he did! They went after him and they remove him off the plane. They escorted him off the concourse.

What a whiney little brat. Too bad he was given the refund, although, it is rather satisfactory that he was denied boarding. If you purchase a nonrefundable ticket, then (surprise!) it is nonrefundable.

I hope that all of his twitter followers avoid the airline. I do not care to have any of this kind of person seated next to me.

What part of "non-refundable" did he not understand?

It's nice to see a company have a backbone when a customer acts like this these days.
