JetBlue Adds Trips to Fetch Fliers as NYC Shutdown Ends

The airline is adding 19 extra flights to help transport those who were/are stuck in Northeast airports due to yesterday's mass cancellations.

And it's likely a good idea because passengers seem pretty unhappy...

Latest statement has BGI, SJU, SXN, PUJ, GCM and more (some added only minutes ago) with extra sections. More than 25 so far system wide. Expect to have everyone "picked up" by Thursday.

Could you post what DL is offering its passengers whose flights were canceled, for comparison? Or any other airline?

No other airline is offering comp to passengers as a blanket policy. Hate all you want, but JetBlue does this better than the others.

Delta has been proactively issuing miles to some affected customers.

They're not worthless. But the offering is also not consistent and clear to all passengers.

So, I think for the sake of public relations, B6 had to offer some compensation as pax clearly felt the situation could have been handled much better.

I have to admit, I have never had my booking cxld three or four times in a row on any airline, and the fact that this compensation category even exists makes me really feel bad for those affected by this debacle.

They changed the graphic to be less cryptic:

Granted my experience is better than 99% of people, but on Monday I got a buzz on my phone at 4am from the app that said my flight was canceled. By 415am on the mosaic line i was rebooked on an earlier flight to dc (was 630pm, rebooked for around 8am). And then yesterday i found out i had gotten 5k points for my "trouble" :-) i'll take it.

So has JetBlue gotten everyone home yet? One of our employees was stranded in SDQ by the shutdown - she originally was only able to get a flight back tomorrow, but that was before B6 put on recovery flights. Still, she doesn't appear to back yet (although normally she doesn't have to be in the office until noon so she may show yet)...just wondering how hard she fought (if at all) to get an earlier flight...
