The A321s received their STC. The existing planes will be retrofit with FlyFi and LiveTV 4 while the new deliveries will get the kit installed prior to commercial service as I understand it.

What does STC stand for?

Yup, which is basically the FAA agreeing that adding the new hardware doesn't affect the airworthiness of the plane. It is a significant and necessary step in adding new service.

JetBlue press release came out today, a bit later than initially planned: http://investor.jetblue.com/phoenix....116&highlight=.

The 320's and 321's will go ahead with the FlyFi and LiveTv4 installs. N905JB is currently the only plane flying around with the new TV system installed. The 190's are going to take some time getting FlyFi installed because, as it was put to me, there are some structural concerns with the larger dome that need to be addressed and are being worked out.

Their JFK-CTG route is not listed. I had a chance to try it out in early May. I was actually pretty surprised. It was pretty quick for basic surfing (when it worked). I did not try streaming netflix. Service started/ended around Florida and worked as far as midway toward the Dominican Republic. However, even when it was over the east coast, it would cut in and out. I hope they expand it internationally. I would love to be able to work the whole flight rather than half of it.

Gonna be a couple years yet until ViaSat 2 is put into orbit and that's possible. But it is coming.

Here's a cool list of flights with FlyFi. It gets updated daily.

Speedtest reported 8325kbps while descending into Austin from Long Beach.
I liked "the hub" web page it defaulted to after signing in, with the live flight tracking, but once I closed it out, I couldn't figure out how to get back to it.

To return to The Hub at any point during the flight type http://www.flyfi.com into your browser and it should bring you right to the initial hub page for your flight.

They've also increased the upload capacity a bit in recent weeks. That was most useful when I was trying to upload photos in-flight today. :D

Is this with the basic/free connection? Or is the increase in upload throughput for the premium setup?

That's on the free version. I've still not found a reason/need to pay for the premium version.

So for those of you who have used Fly-Fi consistently over the months, how has your experience evolved in Beta? Is it ready for prime time in your opinion? Thoughts?

More importantly, why are they stuck on only 50 planes? I would think they should be wrapping up installs on the 320's by now
