Maybe we could do a Public Google Doc to track the progress?

We could, but they're doing a solid effort and I'm not sure what value duplicating that would produce. It is a bit surprising to me to see the number of flights to the Caribbean, outside of the coverage zone. I know that there are a lot of moving parts with fleet utilization and such but I figure JetBlue would be a bit more aggressive at putting the planes on routes where the service would get used.

N715JB is the 5th to be fitted, going in to service this weekend. I'm pretty sure my two flights with the service were both on N804JB.

Were installations delayed by the storm? Still looks like only 5 aircraft are equipped. When are more coming on line?

The 6th plane entered service last night and it looks like they have 2 planes in PAE at once, it takes a week to install.

They must have needed all planes during the holiday rush since none were added during that time.

Yes we pulled planes from MCO and delayed their FlyFi installation in order to run extra sections to move stranded customers around.

Thanks...that's what I figured.

My wife is flying BOS/SAN right now and they have free wifi and movies, but no TV. She is impressed with the wifi quality

If anyone is curious, the planes cycle through Portland, OR to/from Boeing's facility in Everett, WA

Currently 9 online, with 2 being worked on at a time.

Flew on a Fly-fi enabled aircraft (sorry, didn't get the tail #) on BOS-TPA tonight. Service was great - when it worked! We had it for about half the flight, starting about a half hour after takeoff. The FAs said they'd been having issues most of the day, not only with Fly-fi but with the entertainment system - not sure if they're linked or not.

As mentioned upthread, there is a free level of service, and the eye-watering $9/hr level, which is supposed to let you do Netflix etc, so they must be confident of substantial bandwidth for that price. The freebie tier (or freebie-for-now) was every bit as fast as Gogo, which I use on USAir, if not faster.

There are now 27 aircraft active. No tail numbers, but routes/flights are available daily at http://blog.jetblue.com/index.php/fly-fi-routes/.
