Sorry, I should have clarified... While I am forced to book via a travel agent, I can choose any airline & flight cost. My point is simply that no other major airline restricts points to only bookings from their own website. If the announcement above is true, it's a questionable way to 'reward' your most valuable customers, seeing as much less valuable (and less loyal) customers can also get 6 points per dollar.
Regardless, you'll still be getting 2x the points that you currently get. If you are booking B6 flights now, even at 3pt/$, I can't see why you would suddenly refuse to do so once you start earning 6pt/$, unless this situation is making you so bitter as to refuse to fly the airline. But I imagine that you would have left along time ago if that was the deciding factor. |

This kind of change actual makes me pretty happy. I like that jetBlue is attempting to find some middle ground between offering an elite program like everyone else and offering some meaningful perks for freqs while keeping a consitent product uniclass product (with EMS of course). This combined with the Power Ports in EMS seats makes some pretty attractive new perks for frequent travelers on B6.

It's official
A MESSAGE FROM DAVE CANTY
I’m excited to announce TrueBlue Mosaic™, a new badge of loyalty from JetBlue coming this fall. It’s designed to meet the needs of those who fly with us most by adding to the benefits you already enjoy with TrueBlue. With TrueBlue Mosaic comes more benefits, more rewards and more reasons to like JetBlue. TrueBlue Mosaic members and others on their itinerary will enjoy the convenience of breezing through airport lines with Even More™ Speed1 and early boarding. They will be able to use their TrueBlue points toward stretching out with Even More™ Space and get the benefit of a free second bag2. And best of all – TrueBlue Mosaic members will get all of this while earning even more TrueBlue points than before. They will also receive access to a dedicated customer service line. Qualifying is simple and can be done in one of two ways: simply accrue 15,000 base flight points over the course of a calendar year, or qualify by earning 12,000 base flight points with at least 30 one-way flights within a calendar year. Over the coming months, we will be in touch to let you know how close you are to qualifying. Look forward to emails regarding TrueBlue Mosaic updates and benefits, and a personalized Web experience that will track your eligibility toward the TrueBlue Mosaic badge. In the meantime, visit jetblue.com/mosaic to learn more. Because you’ve been true to us, we’re true to you. Thank you for your continued loyalty to JetBlue. Sign. Shocking to see this really happen. How far they've changed the vision of Neeleman and JetBlue in the first place.
One exciting note- is between this and the Virgin America roll out today of statuses. I think there are no longer so many distinctive attributes between the legacies, and the LCCs at this point. With most airlines on a similar playing field, the product and price will once again dictate the ridership. |
Shocking? I hardly think it is shocking. B6 is still a one class airline that is offering a few perks before one gets on the plane and some extra points to the customers that give them the most money. This is hardly a radical shift.
Now if they started offering first class and gave most of the seats away to frequent flyers, started charging fees for nearly everything, messed up their website so that glitches would be a regular occurrence, let their employee contracts be under negotiation 5 years after they have expired, started offering round trip fares which made you jump through hoops to get them--then perhaps you could call them just another US legacy carrier. |

The extra points bring up the earn rate to something a bit more reasonable, and the rest of the perks are pretty minimal (how many business travelers check two bags, anyway?). |

If your employer is forced to book through a certain system, and ends up using a certain airline- I don't see B6 to really need or want to make an exception. They're getting your money anyway.
Think of it this way, you're now getting 6 pts vs 3pts... a 100% increase! Are you referring to the bonus 3 points becoming 6 points? Sorry, little confusing for me? |
Any word on when this program will officially launch? I couldn't find anything on Jetblue.com. Also, what are the chances JetBlue will status match AA, United, Delta, etc?

There's been nothing announced regarding status matches, at least to my knowledge. Based on the way B6 operates, I'd be surprised if there was, but I don't have any inside knowledge either. |

I believe the launch date is October 26th or right around there. It's on our intranet which I don't have access to right now. I'll double check when we get to our layover
|
Just double checked and It says that Mosaic will be launched on the 25th of October
