I do remember a phone contact but didn't believe it was an interview. Maybe that's a new addition. I just got an invite to the group interview, maybe because I had experience?

It was my belief that the drug test paperwork was offered to everyone from the group interview that vaguely looked promising. It was handed to a candidate as he/she was leaving the conference room. (I didn't observe the departures so not sure if everyone got one). Kinda like the old typing test. If you didn't hit the minimum, you were politely excused as it was the first level of screening. I don't think they care about multiple testing costs as they have lab contracts as a contingency already in place. It's just the basic screening level for their process of elimination.

I was from out of town and was not a current airlines employee at the time. I also didn't have a degree like just a couple of others. There were about 10 candidates. I raised what I thought were valid questions about how irregular ops were handled at B6. That was too much discussion for a group screening interview and probably worked against me.

I also could see the more contemporary rapport between the eventual "winners" and the HR person. The HR peeps are young and they are looking more for a connection they like. An answer to a question that succombs to referring to a boyfriend is more interesting to them than reference to a husband, in Iraq, for instance. Later when I found out who was selected, I agreed with one (former AA employee) but not the other but she was the one who made that "she's cool" connection.

You really have to have your game on. Now I say that because although my US interview was twice as thorough, you gotta try to figure out what the HR "game" is. Although I was hoping to survive to the next level, I actually felt sorry for a gal who didn't represent well. The discussion pegged her as she had little experience and began to lose confidence.

Recently applied

Hello all,
I recently applied, completed phone interview, face to face interview, drug test, background check, and fingerprints. I was done with all requirements March. When I was interviewed there was a total of 8 ppl chosen to move forward with background check, drug test, etc but they only had a 2 person need at the time. Unfortunately I was not one of the two, they said the remaining 5 ppl will stay in the hire pile because they are waiting for approval to hire 3 more ppl to send through training. Does anyone know how long it will take now that we are waiting? Thanks.

Hi everyone, did a phone interview11/20ish->> then invited by email to interview in BOS. Interviewed at the Hampton inn and was advised they are proceeding with me in the hiring process. JB sent me an email saying testing and fingerprints. My question is will it be fingerprinting and drug test? Anything else? HR told me they may train in BOS? Wth, I want to train in mco! Lol

You would be able to use buddy passes for your son. You can definately choose your son over your spouse as your 'priveledged flyer' :D. And use buddy passes on your spouse.

No, you can't

From the "Travel Companion" section of the pass riding guide.

This option is only available to single, unmarried Crewmembers, who are not in a Domestic Partnership. Crewmembers that are married to other Crewmembers must list his/her spouse and cannot designate a Travel Companion. A Travel Companion may only be changed once every 12 rolling months. You may not solicit others for a Travel Companion.

Help

Hi all, I start training in Orlando on Saturday. I have been making myself sick trying to remember all airport codes, airline codes and all acronyms. I was wondering how easy the tests are and is it multiple choice. Thanks.

I'm not sure how the AO and GO tests are structured but inflight had a mixture of questions. Don't over study and over think it. There is such a thing as studying TOO much which will hurt you in the long run. Just relax and have fun. The company has spent quite a lot of money on you and they don't want to see you fail.

I'm not on that side of the house but I have a couple of friends who have started out as seasonal help and have eventually been hired on as full time. I'll see if I can get some information from them.

ShineBrighterThenYourShoes Jan 21, 2014 10:50 am

applied @jetblue.com 11/24/13 for AO,
email invite for phone interview on 12/4/13,
Took phone interview on 12/5/13,
12/13/13 recieved email from JetBlue for invite to interview BOS, hampton inn,
12/19/13 interviewed nervously but enthusiastically :)
12/26/13 received email inviting me to the next step in the process, testing on 1/6/13,
Received email from sterling 1/8/13 with verification issues. Satisfied that day, and Sterling said it was complete on 1/8/13

Still no word from JetBlue, and my anxiety and wallet are killing me!

The recruiters mentioned the training could be in BOS or MCO. ? During testing, I recieved two different anwsers to that question, "No way they'll definately have you in MCO!" and "They may be doing training here, but we don't know, you'll have to ask them".

Is it possible to have AO training in BOS? (i hope not!)

Lama10 Jan 22, 2014 8:15 am

ShineBrighter,
I am also waiting to hear from JetBlue. I applied for a part time A/O job in Boston, my background check was complete on 1/6. I'm hopeful we will hear from them soon, but who knows? I received a Simply Hired alert 2 days ago, JetBlue is still looking for part time A/O agents in Boston. I don't know if that is good news or bad news????
Also, does anyone know how often JB holds classes for A/O agents in Orlando? I would also prefer to go to Orlando for training.
Keeping my fingers crossed

Lama10,

I also called HR on Thursday, 1/16th, left message and still no call back. (they say, no news is good news, but..)

I would assume if the training is scheduled for the first week of Feb 2/3/14, (B6 said 2/1/14 during the f2f but thats on a Sat.) HR WILL call atleast a week prior to that day. (i hope)

I'm thinking we should have a call by Friday, the latest. (i pray)

I think if we don't, either, they're trying to build the class bigger (send a larger group to training) or they just don't know what the hell is going on, and we're just sitting in the accepted pile.

My buddy just got a call from US/American and they literally called him at 3:30pm Friday to tell him training monday. I'm praying B6 doesn't pull that same stunt!!

I'm worried because I see some posts where applicants talk about months before communication. Can't imagine this will happen to us. (fingers crossed)

I did see on the website, they're still hiring for GO but I haven't seen the AO post yet.. interesting!

Lama10 Jan 22, 2014 5:14 pm

Hi shinebrighter,

I met someone who went through some of the A/O training, I believe in October.
She said that JetBlue, after contacting you, gives you 2 weeks, so you can give your current employer your 2week notice. If that is the case, maybe training starts, at the end of February, or early March? I don't know.....
I also read on another site, that JB has more classes in March and April to get ready for the busy summer season????

Is anyone else on here from the 12/19/13 Hampton Inn interviews?

ShineBrighterThenYourShoes Jan 23, 2014 12:13 pm

I just got an email response saying there is no news yet. They also stated we maybe getting calls on Monday with some information!?! Keep your fingers crossed!

Hope to see you soon! :)

Hi!
Just a quick note to tell all of those waiting to hear back to hang in there. I went through this stressful situation a few years ago and must say, it is worth every second! I LOVE working for Jetblue. Every good thing you've heard about this company is true and I'm actually glad to read you're stressed and nervous because that means you really want it. That passion is awesome and you will all be amazing baby blues before you know it! Your training will be great regardless of the location so don't worry about that. Do however take it seriously. If and when you're there, study, study, study. It's not play time. And yes, seasonals do get hired as permanent very often. I was one myself! Good luck to you all!

Thanks cupcake!

I actually received my email this morning, offering the position!

I was advised the offer letter will come this friday 1/31, itinerary next week and heading to training for 2/12 in MCO!

Thank you for the reassurances, knowing several people within the airline industry, I don't hear much negative feedback (which is obvious why, because they're a good company to work for..) for JetBlue.

I applied PT A/O and per the email today, I was advised theres a possibility of getting FT right off the bat!!

It just keeps getting better! :)

Hey Lama10,

Pretty good guess :) 2/12

Lama10 Jan 28, 2014 7:40 pm

Hi Shinebrighter,

Congratulations!!!!! I will also see you on 2/12, possibly on 2/11 on the flight to MCO, happy to be going to Orlando:)

cupcake3 Jan 30, 2014 4:06 am

Congratulations to you both and welcome to the family! Jetblue University in MCO is a fantastic facility and I'm sure both of you will work hard and do very well. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. Good luck and once again....Congrats!

littleree Jan 30, 2014 1:50 pm

To ShineBrighter and Lama10:
Congrats to you both! I interviewed face-to-face earlier this week for a PT AO position at PVD and am now in the waiting stage. Can you shed any light as to when you did your drug test and lifting test relative to your f2f interviews? Just trying to get some sort of an idea as to when this may happen. Also, did you do these two components of the process and THEN receive the offer or vice versa? Any info you can share is greatly appreciated!

littleree Jan 30, 2014 1:54 pm

one more thing for Lama10- you said that you read on another site that there are other training classes in March and April; which site is that? I am just trying to get as much info as I can while in this stage of the process. thanks again!

Lama10 Feb 2, 2014 7:42 am

Hi Littlerae,

I had my f2f on Dec . 19th, and my drug
Test on Jan.6th. My background check was
Complete on Jan 6. I received an email with
Offer letter attached on Jan. 31, and I start
Training on Feb. 12th in MCI

I can tell you that there is another class
Starting on Feb. 26th. Classes for A/O position
Run for 2 weeks.

I hope this helps:) It is a bit nerve wracking
Trying to figure out the whole interview/hiring
Process.

Also, I believe the information on Mar/April
Classes was on this site, but a different thread.

Best of luck!!!!

Lama10 Feb 2, 2014 7:44 am

Oopps class is in MCO.....typo

Thank you cupcake, and I appreciate your interest in helping us out! :) I do have a couple questions relating to the A/O position. I understand it can be ticket counter, gates, and baggage claim. Do you think B6 will assign us a designated area, or do they have us everywhere? How often are the bids?

Lama10,
I responded back about FT, so when I got the offer letter it stated that I was FT! All airport codes and airline codes are studied and perfected. Ready to learn the rules now.

Littlelee,
Be very patient, and remember "no news IS good news". Good luck!!

Drug test and fingerprinting was done same day, at the airport, weeks after the f2f interview. After the background check, like Lama10 said, they sent out the offers on 1/31. It felt like an eternity waiting!

Actually, it was my thread :D

littleree Feb 2, 2014 1:37 pm

Thank you to everyone who responded to my questions. You are so correct in saying that it is nerve-wracking! The B6 folks I met with said there would be more interviews this week and that they were hoping to make decisions (2 open positions) late this week or early the following week. I wonder if they make those decisions then go ahead with the background... at that rate, it would seem unlikely that anyone chosen for PVD would make the 2/26 class. Thank you again, and good luck to you!

MissReed11 Feb 3, 2014 4:49 pm

Hey everyone! After reading this thread I decided to join in.

Applied for JB A.O @ JFK on 12/23
Virtual Interview 12/30
F2F Interview 1/14
Drug test 1/31
Finger prints 2/03
and now waiting for that acceptance email or phone call.

littleree Feb 3, 2014 7:25 pm

Sounds great, MissReed. Thanks for sharing your time frame and good luck! Keep me (us) posted as to your progress and I will be hoping you get that offer soon! May I ask you (and everyone) another question: Who was it that contacted you for the drug test/fingerprints - was it the local station themselves with whom you interviewed or the recruiter with whom you originally phone-interviewed with (or someone else altogether)?
Thanks again for reading and responding to my questions!

MissReed11 Feb 6, 2014 6:33 pm

Hey littleree and thanks for the luck! The recruiter called me sent me for my drug test then scheduled me for the fingerprints through out everything only one person (recruiter) called me for everything. Hope I answered your question

littleree Feb 9, 2014 10:09 am

Thanks again Missreed for the info. This coming Tuesday will mark two weeks since my face to face so I am hoping to hear good news soon. I wonder which happens first- the background check then they call you for fingerprints/drug test or vice versa? Seems like it may go either way. In any event, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and me both!
