help for one day in tokyo
hi, on sunday i will be in tokyo at fs marunouchi. can the hotel concierge help me about tokyo tour, train tickets and other things?
thanks |
I am thinking that if they could not they would not be a five star hotel so highly praised for their service.
Try their own homepage for the following information: http://www.fourseasons.com/marunouch...ighlights.html It would seem I am right. ;)

No. Never heard of a hotel concierge in Japan being able to help with such things. They are mostly a works program for unemployed ojisans who couldn't pass the taxi driver's test.

And they say the AA Forum is the snarkiest forum on Flyertalk...
;) Address the question in a brief and succinct way (or elaborate on it with some potentially useful information on the reality of Tokyo taxis) and this comes out.... One just can't win here! :( :p:D |
I dunno. I've actually been thinking the same sort of thing. We used to enjoy a reputation as being one of the friendliest, most helpful groups on FT. Of late, it seems we are just another gang of smart-a**, inside-jokers, jumping on the newcomers for not using the search function. I'm as guilty as the next person.
This is certainly not a slam at Mike, who actually gave a helpful link. We just are not what we used to be and I feel a bit saddened by it. :( |

Being sarcastic with Japanese people can often get you a look of horror and when you try to explain it to Japanese they will often say "what is soccer stick?" Here we tend to over compensate because there are many native level speakers. The regulars on this board are very sharp and realy darn funny..IMHO ^ |

I say "let them eat manju"........
BTW, since so many are here of my fave folks on FT, I am having a problem with deciding on which ultra-super luxury hotel in BKK to stay at? Should it be the FS/PEN/MO/Sukhothai........have had the pleasure to stay at the first 3 (FS when it was a Regent)and eaten at the Sukhothai. I really can't make my mind up......:o |
hydargos, to get back to your original question, Tokyo is a city that really rewards those who do a bit of homework in advance. Before approaching the concierge, I'd strongly recommend doing some travel guide reading and deciding exactly what interests you the most, and then letting the concierge help you with the logistics of doing it.

I think this one may have been withdrawn for safety reasons after Takeru Kobayashi's recent jaw injury.
