Best Sake bar?
Hello,
Looking for recommendations for the best sake bars in Tokyo. Will have a one night layover. We will be grabbing dinner at Sushi Saito or Sushi Iwa(if we cant get a seat at Saito). Looking to find a place to sample some Sake as it can be hard to find a good selection in the states. Any suggestions? It will be a Monday night if that makes a difference. Thanks. |
"Sake bars" aren't really a thing in Tokyo: sake is meant to be enjoyed with food, and any izakaya worth its salt will have a good dozen available by the glass. But let us know where you're staying and/or end up eating, and I'm sure the FT hivemind can suggest a few places with a good selection.

Anpuku in Toranomon Hills and Akita Pure Rice Sake next to Tokyo Station are both very nice, casual sake bars where you can enjoy a nice selection of sake in small tasting-size glasses. Sake no Ana in Ginza is also quite good.
