Need simple phone in Sicily
 

Hi, we are going to Sicily and southern Italy for six weeks. Our current phones are with republic wireless and its not possible to configure them to make international calls. So we need a phone as well as sim. We would use the phone to make/receive Italian calls in Italy. Also probably text. As for internet and calling USA we'll bring our current phones and use them for that when there's WiFi. We are flying into fco with a 2.5 hour layover to Palermo. Should we buy phones in USA and sim in Italy or could we buy them together in Italy? Sorry for another phone question but we are non-techie people and even inserting a sim would be a challenge. We speak only a little Italian especially as we begin the journey. Grazie!

For the phones, go to Amazon or the like and look for an "unlocked" phone that you can put the SIM card into.
