Exclamation IC Tokyo Bay question

I noticed that IC was having a 72 hour sale for a Tokyo Bay and came across this language:

TAX: 5% per night not included in rate effective 1 September, 2009 thru 4 September, 2009
ADDITIONAL 200 JPY CITY TAX PER PERSON PER NIGHT FOR ALL RATES ABOVE 15000 JPY.
10% per night not included in rate effective 1 September, 2009 thru 4 September, 2009
I realize I can't get out of the tax ... because ... well, it's TAX. But what is the additional 10% per night? Seems like a way to show low rates, but tack on an additional 10% revenue. If that's the case, then

First, I think you are posting at the wrong forum as this is only an IC stay forum.

The additional 10% service charge is pretty normal beside the room rate and taxes. Other hotel chains like Hilton & Starwood do charge the same % on service charge.

IHG has a Japan sale on at the moment. Generally prices aren't too bad.

That is the service charge. Mind you that in Japan, no hotel staff expect tips as normally it is considered 'included' in that service charge.

Apologies if this was covered in another thread... couldn't find it.
If I book a night through this 72 hour sale, is it still considered a qualifying night? 11000 yen seems really really good.

AFAIK it is...ones I have booked before have been. It requires pre-payment, no changes and loss if cancelled.

Stays booked under last spring's similar sale were qualifying at both the IC Yokohama Bay and IC Tokyo Bay.

Thanks for the info. Might get my sister to stay so that I can get the 3 IC
conditions for getting RA through this deal.
