booking a room for someone else?
i did a bunch of searches and all i found was threads related to booking an award for someone else.
i'd like to book a room for my mom (same last name) so i earn points on my pc account - is this possible? i won't be with her
is it like a reward booking where i put her down as the second guest?
thanks

Put the name of your mom as the second guest, but you have to change number of guests from 1 by default to 2 guests in the search form. If you are lucky you will get your points as this is against terms and conditions. Argumentation: you arrived later and left VERY early in the morning

I do this all the time and book for my husband, who has a different last name. No problem at all doing this. His name goes down as additional guest and I just note in the comments that he'll be checking in.

Strange, the search function should work and it's been asked many times.
Yes, book a room for 2 people, and add your mum's name as additional guest on the booking. 9 out of 10 chances you will get the points. Give her your PC card (any expired one will also do the job), it may make her check in easier.
If you need to book a room for 2 guests (not including yourself), just add one of their names as the additional guest.

I am 0 for 3 in booking the "real" guest as a second guest. The "real" guest always has the reservation honored, but I haven't gotten points on ANY of the stays. If it makes a difference, all of the stays were in Germany. Three different german hotels, 3 different "real" guests, 0 points for me.

No harm to call customer service if no points appeared. Make sure they understand that you booked and probably pre-paid the stays. Normally the balance will be topped up while you still on the phone.
