Let's take a wild guess and assume that - for a promotion that doesn't start until mid September - the code hasn't been activated yet ....

Could well be, except that the page is already at priorityclub.com and previous code registrations have been possible before the starting dates, so it wouldn't be unreasonable to think they knew what they were doing.
