Talk about value! One Kimpton I checked was 50K points or $500 cash.

I think I've found my new group of aspirational properties- I like the causal elegance of the Kimptons I've previewed compared to the formality of ICs.

I suppose it's no big deal, but at Kimpton gold, platinum, and Spire are the same set of elite benefits? Unless that matters for upgrade priority I suppose. I was hoping at least Raid the Bar values will be variable.

In the old Karma program you got WiFi and Raid the Bar just for being a member of the program so it wasn't really an elite benefit. Outside of upgrades, the elite benefits you usually see with Kimpton are personalization since it's a much more boutique feel brand.

The Seattle Kimpton's are 50K>60K. Good value I think.

I wonder if (and if so, when) Kimpton properties will start earning 5x points on the Chase IHG card?

The 5X points is already in place; I received it for a stay at Ink48 last November.

Do you need to register for the 5X points?

No, it is a published benefit of the IHG MasterCard from Chase.

Can we earn IHG points for Kimpton stays yet?

Have you seen the T&Cs of the cards updated? I’m asking because I’d want something to point Chase to if a Kimpton property doesn’t code correctly to trigger the 5x points.

The last time I checked, the T&Cs specified 5x points at “IHG” properties, but digging further listed the specific chains that were included, and Kimpton hadn’t been added yet.

Can I ask why any RA would want to stay at a Kimpton? From my brief searching, it seems Kimpton's are priced roughly the same as IC's. But there no club or mini-bar benefit at Kimpton's. And if I'm looking in a town that doesn't have an IC, I'll maybe choose the CP instead for half the price and possibly even get one with a good club.

I thought Kimpton does have a (limited) minibar benefit?

'Raid the Bar' appears to be a $10 USD credit for minibar or other food & drink for elite members. (since RA spend means you've also got Spire, you get it)
