Cheapest hotel in Europe

I am currently looking for the cheapest hotel in Europe for a 4 night stay (trigger several Accelerate tasks) during the next couple of weeks.

I have previously stayed at hotels in Spain (40-50 EUR per night), however during the summer season even those tend to become a little more expensive.

Does anyone have better ideas? Location does not really matter as long as it is in Europe!

depends very much on where you are traveling from.

Have a look on Eastern Europe overall.
Poland can be a good deal (e.g., Warsaw Jozefow and Lodz often go around EUR 30).

I've seen as low as 25 euros for the HI Express near Istanbul airport. Even the nicer properties in the tourist centre are going for 40-50 euros per night.

Agreed Lodz is pretty cheap and looks to be a nice city. I'm going this Fall.

Look on previous Pointbreaks lists - those HIX hotels, usually by a motorway junction, are often £40, +/-£5 or so.

These hotels may have a low nightly rate but it will cost a lot more to get there - either renting a car or long train journeys followed by 20-40 minute walks / a bus that comes once an hour.

Coming from Belgium, the cheapest hotels nearby are those linked to DUS and FRA airports, but only worthwhile if you are purely going to the hotel and then going home straight afterwards.

Otherwise if you want to actually do something at the destination, Poland and Turkey are good suggestions.

One Brissels Center hotel i noted was when European Parliament migrates out of Brussels in summer, the nearby HI Schuman (I think it was) really dropped it's prices.

So with your Brussls home location you could pay a little more out of savings on any travel and still end up with best total rate of room+travel costs

And it has excellent staff who are happy to go the extra mile for those with status and return on a regular basis and immaculately up kept rooms.
