Help with points retention

Hi all

Last January I took advantage of an IHG deal and purchased 100,000 points to be used at some future date in a pointsbreaks promotion.

I have had no other activity in my account and I need some activity to keep my account active and not lose the points.

I vagually recall receiving an email some time ago which talked about some kind of websurfing tool that you earned IHG points with but I have lost the email and can't find any details online of the tool. Anyone known anything about this.

Failing that is there any simple, and preferable no cost, way to keep my points active?

cheers Peter

IHG Rewards Club 1,000 Free Points For Doing A Survey! (Good Way To Extend Points Validity)
by John Ollila - Sep 1, 2016 12 Comments
IHG Rewards Club has launched a new partnership with a survey company called Opinion Check-In (Survey Sampling International).

IHG Rewards Club Surveys 1000 Bonus Points

Members that do their first survey using the platform will receive 1,000 bonus points that will extend the validity of ones points by another 12 months. [click to continue…]
-----------------------------------------------------------
If you qualify and complete your first survey, then it's 1000 points.
If you don't qualify, then it's 5 points.
Either one should extend the date.

Thanks

Thanks for the link.

I just did my first survey so I'm good for another year. Shame that the 2nd and later surveys don't give as many points.

cheers Peter

They also have song downloads for some paltry sum in the points catalog (99c equivalent).

Sign up for IHG Rewards Club dining with your credit card. Visit a restaurant on their list that you can get points for and use that credit card. Points post to my IHG Rewards account on Tuesdays for dines during the previous week.
Redeeming points for a digital download of a book, song or game will also work.
Consider using some points and redeeming them for something out of the gift catalog for holiday gifts.

This is great stuff!
I have 100K IHG Points expiring & just did the survey, didn't qualify for the 30 minute one for 1,000 points so they gave me 5 points. That's all I need. Points good for 12 more months & 30 minutes saved!;)

I can attest from experience when the site tells you it is only xx min. for the survey you can add about 50% extra time. They will ask you questions to see if you qualify for the survey (an extra 10 min) and then maybe you will qualify for the longer survey. I found the site is not worth my time for the points they give.

I wasn't going to sign up after the negative comments, but I did and if I'm watching TV or have nothing to do it keeps the points ticking over

If you discover you actually like the surveys, e-Rewards typically is a better return on your time than the other survey site, provided they're a redemption option for your home country. Signing up can be a little convoluted if the program you want to earn in doesn't send out many invitations to the panel but if you sign up under an airline, that typically also gives you all the hotel redemption options available in your country.

Would try here and see what kind of rewards are offered after sign-up:

https://www.e-rewards.com/Enroll.do?...EN_AU&secure=1

And then come join us in the e-Rewards thread for discussion on how to max out in the program because the program itself is not good about letting you know the possibilities of earning. . At least so far (it could always change for 2017) the e-Rewards points have been posting as elite qualifying 'partner points' and I made Spire from the couch this year.
