If by "alternatives" you mean public transportation, yes. There's a bus from PRG that goes into town and you can then get the metro to the hotel. We did this last year. A bit of a hassle (especially with luggage), but I have an aversion to high priced taxis. The metro stop is a good 10 minute walk from the hotel, as I recall.
