IHG Accelerate 1Q 2017 (1st JAN to 15th APR)

another impossible completion for me. 2 of my current tasks are:
current promo required 24 nights, and 2 stays outside my country. January promo is even harder. 31 nights and 3 stays outside my country. No where near completing the current promo due to switching a lot of stays to Hilton / Stanwood. So they have given me an even harder promo for january. |
After a long email exchange for the last promo regarding the Corporate Rate stay task when I was told that there was no Corporate Rate attached to my IHG Account, the end result was - tough luck , you can achieve your completion bonus by completing all the remaining tasks. So for this quarter I have had 40 nights at Accor properties and 2 at IHG properties.
For next quarter unsurprisingly again I have been set a Corporate Rate stay task and equally unsurprisingly I will have a hell of a lot of stays at any property that is not an IHG hotel. |

My total offer is 41,000, but I can hit most of the tasks (except 1) with 1 stay for 31,000 points, so it seems pretty lucrative.

Challenges similar to last time except
Spend $30 more on F&B ($460) for 900 points less :confused: Globe Trotter 3 countries (as before) for 3000 points less :confused: Stay 16 nights (was 14) for 4000 more-not worth it TBHO Must think I'm stupid. I can cherry pick a couple of tasks but will not be going out of my way to complete this. |
The terms state that stays at Kimpton will not qualify. I assume this means we still won't be able to earn IHG points at Kimpton next year

Your January stays will very likely qualify, they usually do; all except for challenges of which the t&c explicitly mentions that they have to be booked during the promo period, but that's very rare.

I'm pretty happy with my offers. 41k total possible for 5 nights, including 2 stays at a HIX and using the Chase IHG card at least once. My ongoing hypothesis that they are trying to build brand loyalty by targeting offers to brands that one has stayed at over the past year seems to be supported - HIX and Candlewood were tied as my most frequented IHG brands in 2016.
I wonder if IHG realizes that they've created an incentive to avoid the premium and/or obscure brands (Indigo, Even, CP, IC) with this sort of targeting... |

"Book and stay between 1 Jan and 15 April"....should this be taken as written or does it mean that the stay must be in that period but the booking can be before?
