Advice Requested: EU Flight Delay Compensation
Earlier this year I had a delayed arrival time of roughly 3 hours 40 minutes from my AA trip from Heathrow to O'Hare. I went through an automated flight delay compensation website to help claim a refund as per EU regulations and I finally received a positive response from AA this morning.
Per their e-mail: We offer you one of the following forms of compensation. A. Monetary payment of 300EUR - or - B. Transportation voucher in the amount of $500USD which may be used to purchase travel on American Airlines for you, a friend, or relative.
Obviously the difference between the two values is rather large so I wanted to check with knowledgeable experts before I accept anything! |
There's a long thread in the BA forum about this that will likely answer your question definitively or get an answer from one of the Brits.
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...61-2004-a.html I think the €300 is correct for the amount of delay you had. Your decision whether the cash or voucher is better for you. See post #3 question #2 in the thread above. Welcome to FT! |
