Quickest way to rack up points

I am trying to rack up 200,000 points in a 3 month period. What is the quickest and easiest way to do so with manufactured spending or other options?

You'll need to be much more specific. What kind of points, what cards do you have, where are you based, etc.?

Welcome to FlyerTalk, ESQ. Unfortunately, the meaning of "points" varies tremendously, with some hotel points being worth just 1/7 or so of the value of others (or of airline miles).

So while it's easy to rack up 100000 HHilton HHonors points in about 3 months (applying for two 50k bonus Citi HHonors Visa cards at least 8 days apart, and then doing the $1000 minimum spend quickly after you get each one), those points are worth not much more than 15k or 20k airline miles. And they are also worth about 1/7 of what SPG points are. So unless it's Hilton hotel points you need, the fact they are easy to get fast is not very relevant.

Also, it's one thing to rack up 200,000 points/miles in lots of different programs in 3 months, but if you need them all in one program, that's way more difficult.

So it might help to explain what your end goal is, rather than just listing "200,000 points" generically.

Thanks.

Churning points

I have SPG, Amex platinum, Chase Sapphire Preferred, Citi AA executive, Hilton Reserve and Hyatt credit card. I am trying to go to Europe this summer and need about 250,000 points for roundtrip first class for 2. What do you recommend is the fastest and easiest way for accumulating points for this? I don't want to sign up for more credit cards and I don't have a lot of time to go do the manufactured spending.

Do you have any points now? If so where?

I don't see any way to accumulate that many points (assuming you're starting with few now) in time...

Why must you fly first class? Where are you flying from?

Is this any different from this question yesterday? Besides that you said 200,000 points and three months?

It's a similar post. I am trying to go from Los Angeles to Greece. I wanted to give more specifics. Do you have recommendations?

The airlines sell points, often with a bonus offer. The price isn't great but possibly worthwhile if using for first class tickets. But there is a annual limit, typically 50000 or so. If you are trying to accumulate United points, you can buy them for 1.9 cents each using the mile accelerator program, this is a fairly good price.

The person going with you can try to accumulate points, it might be easier to try to get 100000 points in each of two accounts rather than 200000 in one account. Potentially your partner could go the credit card route and get the miles. Or if you buy the miles, you may be able to get 75000 or so for each of two accounts in that way.

Don't assume that first class tickets will be available just because you have enough points to buy them; recently it seems to me that the points can be very difficult to use. The airline that you accumulate points for may not have any first class flights on offer for the day, week or month that you hope to travel. If you have not yet chosen an airline or alliance for your trip, consider availability and how flexible your trip plans are.

Why don't you want to signup for more? that's the easiest way and it doesn't hurt you credit score too much ( i signed up for 14 and my score is 720 )

Yes, I do. First, don't cross-post.

Using a single one thread to discuss the same/similar issues is the best way to utilize FT since most FTers read and participate in many fora. If you just want to be more specific, you can always edit your original post or make newer clarifying notes to the original thread.

Secondly, since you are aiming for a big chunk of mile/points in a short 3 months, you shall get better feedback from either CC Programs Forum (per churning and CC signup bonuses) or Manufactured Spending Forum. I'd alerted the mods to merge and relocate your thread/s so you don't have to start another new thread. Meanwhile, just sit tight, & read and read and read so you may learn as much as you can from FT.

Welcome to FT!
