US$to rupees

There should be a State Bank of India counter, just exchange a couple of hundred dollars.

so if i understand you correctly, you want to use your credit card to get rupees when you land at the airport????what banks do your credit cards belong to????

TravelPhotographer Feb 17, 2015 7:17 pm

Sorry.
$50US cash = 5 tens.

The forex counters in arrivals (Thomas Cook and Centrum) will exchange your 50$ into INR without issues: http://www.csia.in/atcsia/forex.aspx

Note that for such a little amount there will be a fee. And the exchange rate will be poor on top (Thomas Cook buys US$ at 60 although the rate is 63 for example).

Thanks! Anyone: any idea what added fee will be for exchanging $50US?

About 4-5$.

I travelled via Mumbai last week.

Official Bank rate was 64 = US$1

After fees the effective rate for US$100 note was 55!

I ended up changing money at my hotel and got about 58. Not much better.
