Connect Through BOM or DEL

Time for a quick poll -

If you had the choice of connecting through BOM or DEL which would it be?

Details : Travelling in J/F from LHR - UDR on a separate internal ticket from either BOM or DEL with 9w - take into account the transfer..

irfan23 Jun 18, 2012 4:10 pm

DEL, no question.

Dr P Jun 18, 2012 4:15 pm

Thanks Irfan - tough call as I have only connected through BOM in the past and its a joke especially when arriving on BA and having to connect to 9W!

irfan23 Jun 18, 2012 4:18 pm

I agree, and I am a proud Mumbaikar, but that transfer at Sahar is ridiculous.

SpeedFreak Jun 18, 2012 4:20 pm

Del, even if you have to wait half a day at the airport. As for bombay, I love the city but international connections is a strict no no.

abaheti Jun 18, 2012 4:23 pm

DEL -- everything about the airport experience beats BOM.

AJLondon Jun 18, 2012 6:44 pm

DEL, DEL, DEL.

And again DEL!

BOM is seriously horrid to transit thru, especially between international and domestic. DEL T3 on the other hand is very civilized.

What is UDR?

i guess we should ask babu to correct the thread title since the op probably put that down by mistake....

also, another vote for del....if i had a choice i would never ever want to connect at bom....

Anish Jun 19, 2012 1:11 am

DEL hands down.

Dr P Jun 19, 2012 1:16 am

Sorry I put UDR on title by mistake.. It was getting late last night here in London

The connection from in Delhi is indeed over 12hrs on return to connect 9w to BA whereas in BOM only 4 hrs but that soon goes in the hassle of changing airports.

I think DEL it is even if it means a long layover. I guess I can go and see Delhi by night rather than sit at airport for the whole time.

Unfortunately so. And with the metro now connecting central Delhi to T3, your plan to go into the city is even more feasible than ever.

Cool i will have to look into it. I must admit i know nothing about Delhi because i usually go via Mumbai as i know the place and some people there.

even with the longer layover, i would still go with del....as you know already, bom is a mess....
