Right. I included the ex-Ey 77Ws into "legacy" for FC purposes.

Here are some equipment changes just announced by AI.

https://networkthoughts.com/2026/02/...n-summer-2026/

Looks like current BOM ex-EY will be moved to Melbourne and to part of Toronto routes and replaced with new 789s.

They are expecting two A35Ks only iin 2026. Most likely they will be deployed to UK/JFK routes for now.

Decent FC will broadly have to wait for 2027.

It seems in a few months:
  • Destinations that will have First = Chicago, Melbourne, Toronto, Vancouver
  • Destinations that will not have First = London, New York, Paris, Tokyo

I struggle to to identify the logic that might have been used to arrive at this decision.

I think BOM-EWR/JFK will still be the 77W with First. Wrt LHR, I think AI wanted to really get their new 789/788 (refurb) on those routes hence why they moved the 77W from BOM-LHR to MEL. So while BOM-LHR loses F it gains Prem Y. If I had to bet I would think the first A350-1000 will do LHR-DEL (two flights) that will connect both ways to MEL-DEL. This way AI will be able to offer F LHR-DEL-MEL.
