Interesting. They are still not selling Premium Economy per Google Flights.

Following this thread to watch for aircraft reports on SFO-BLR and SFO-BOM... would love to see the ex-Delta planes on either of those. Wish they'd acquired all 12!

I can see by trying to make a dummy booking on the BOM-EWR route for my trip in March. AI 191 is operating as 777-200LR. The seat selection also confirms this. Of course a lot can change between now & March but as of now it seems like they will be operating the ex DL planes on both the BLR-SFO & BOM-EWR routes.

I looked at a random date in March (may not be the same as what you looked at, of course) and I do not see the ex-DL seat configuration. If it says 77L, that means nothing, AI has a couple of old 77Ls.

Look at 31st March.
DEL routes are unlikely to get the 772s because (a) DEL is closer to the US than BOM or BLR; (b) they can add each 3x weekly route every time they get one more plane, they don't need to wait for a pair of planes to become available for a daily route. |

Huh? They are running 777-200LRs between DEL and SFO right now.
As flights from other Indian airports (south of Delhi so further away from NA) expand, they could be a higher priority for old and ex-DL 772s and cause the 772 to be pulled from DEL-SFO. |
At the end of the day, as of now it seems like AI is planning on using the ex DL planes on the BLR-SFO & BOM-EWR routes. As more planes come into service I'm sure other routes will be introduced. There is even no guarantee the above mentioned 2 routes will remain on the new planes. Its all speculation right now. We just have to wait & see.

Booked AI 191 from BOM-EWR for my March trip. So far the flight is being operated on the Ex-DL 777-200LR. Hopefully it will remain the same.

Looking at end of Feb/early March JFK-BOM on AI 116 | Boeing 777-200LR.
Are these going to be the DL planes? |

The first of these five planes to be put into service, VT-AEF, started scheduled service a week or so ago and is doing BOM-SFO-BOM exclusively.
|
The second aircraft, VT-AEG landed in Delhi yesterday.

BOM-JFK non-stop starting Feb 14
Can somebody flying coach post a review if you fly soon? I have a flight coming up Feb 22 and interested to hear how clean the bathrooms are kept
Thank you |
Here is a review of SFO-BOM on the same ex-Delta aircraft that will fly BOM-JFK
