This is unreal, having the same problems trying to book with Air India Express. They don't take Amex and US Visa and MC are not going through. Guess I'll have to try Expedia. So silly.
EDIT: No go on Expedia. Had to use Make My Trip for bookings with Air India Express & Indigo (they don't accept Amex. Somewhat hard to register for Make My Trip (but finally got it done). Once done, easy enough to book those airlines, including seats, etc. and one can manage the trip directly on the airline websites re add-ons. Was able to use Amex directly with SpiceJet & Air India on their website (just have to verify your safekey passcode sent to your email). Much easier on these 2 airlines. |
Gifts from current admin keeps coming....
Intentions are good.
but not thought through Diaspora more interested in "pooja" than get PMO to correct missteps. Two years into this nightmare, challenges remain. One can use US credit card in DMart store but not online with same DMart. Have you tried getting Sim in india without proof of local address? How about "lifelong" OCI getting hurdle at age 50? Did you ever officially get opportunity to exchange those 1000 rupee notes after that boneheaded demonstration? Lesson: With new regime not going anywhere, either stay away from India or must find local relative/host to insulate you from real India. That's What 99.9999 pct of visitors do. |
Buying Indigo tickets with US CC
Anyone have issues with it? This is the 3rd time I am trying to over the last three months and it is not being accepted. Any suggestions on what I can do? Don’t have an Indian cc. Thanks!

Generally have not faced an issue using foreign cards on Indigo, but if it persists, can you use an OTA like Expedia even though it's not ideal.

IIRC it's a 2FA issue... verified by visa etc... so you could also see if that is available on your card. |
Thank you. Will go the OTA route!

Checking here…Anyone successfully been able to use US-based Visa cards for bookings direct on their website. I know I’ve got amex to work in past, but always failed to be able to use a Chase Visa. Wondering if anything has changed.
I’m guessing should work to book flight using OTA like Cleartrip. Aside from needing to deal with third-party for schedule changes, or if I need to amend or cancel, any big disadvantages to going that route? |

I booked one-way SIN-CCU in Dec for travel later that month directly on Indigo's site using Chase Sapphire Preferred. Later I also purchased a seat and meal using the same card. No problems. Both were billed in SGD.
In the past, I've found Chase Sapphire Reserve (and before it, Preferred), had not worked for me. But haven't tried in at least a couple of years. Wanted to test it, but not sure of my exact schedule yet, and seems 6E does not have refundable fares (at least, where there isn't a fee to refund). |
Booked a domestic flight with indigo just now . No problem with CSP . Added seat and paid in INR cause better rate . Showed PNR and approved for transaction

I'm not sure if I am having a foreign credit card issue, foreign address issue, technology/browser issue, or what, but for quite a while now I have not been able to get the "Pay" button to go off gray when adding credit card details to pay for Indigo flights through the 6E App, Chrome, or Edge browsers. I have been sort of ignoring it because at some point (when it was all still working) I had my Citi Prestige card added to my saved payment methods, and that has been working fine ... until today. I went to buy a DEL>BOM ticket, got it all set up,etc, went to the payment screen, selected my saved Citi card radio button, and then 'boom', the Indigo website wants me to add my address on the next page. I did, and of course the "Pay" button stayed grayed out.
I ended up just buying through an OTA to get it done, but does anyone have a solution? I prefer buying through airlines directly, especially Indigo, because I like to get the Super6E fare, for the XL seat and extra kg's of luggage, and I usually add Fast Forward. |

I tried VPN’ing in from the US worked… did you fill out your phone number, email etc. at the bottom of the page and check all the boxes required (first option only)?
Oh well, it was convenient while it lasted. Edited to mention that I am currently in the US, so I tried VPN to make the purchase from India. |
Last month I booked BLR - AMD with a Chase Sapphire Reserve card with no trouble. I think once in the past (2+ years ago) the same card had failed. So I'm not sure if I was just lucky this time or whether their acceptance of US cards is getting better.
