If you dont have check-in baggage, print your boarding pass at home/hotel and avoid the check in desks altogether. They will not make you gate check the extra bag.

I frequently see people (who aren't in Premiere) bring disgusting amounts of luggage on board (three pieces and above, often) and take up overhead space, and no one does a thing to stop them. So yeah, you'll be okay with a carry-on and a laptop bag.

The other day I contacted Jet Airways and they said that you're allowed to carry cabin luggage and laptop bag/handbag/purse/reading material as long as all of these weigh 7kg together. So as long as all of the cabin luggage is under limits (7kgs) you're allowed to carry 2 to 3 pieces of cabin luggage.

It's highly unlikely that 2-3 pcs of luggage will weigh 7kgs, only if you're carrying them close to empty. FYI most laptops along with a charger weigh 3kgs.

As what the Jet Airways officials have said (not my words duh!) The bottom line is that whatever you take to the cabin should weigh 7kgs together.
