JP Accrual and Redemption Changes
Just scanning through for some redemption in Oct'14 and found that the miles needed are increased by 1000 miles for some sectors.
Eg: MAA - TRZ used to be 4000 miles and now quoted at 5000 miles. I do not remember seeing a notice from Jet on this. PS: for some sectors, its reduced as well. |

Most of the sectors they seems to have reduced the miles requirement by 20% or so like BOM-DEL is now at 8500 instead of 10500, BLR-DEL is 12000 instead of 15000 but there seems to be no official word still. |
While the domestic is more an adjustment, the international chart has been officially gutted with 50-60% hike in the number of miles across the board, and it has been done with immediate effect so that you don't get to sneak in a booking.
|
Shameful move by Jet which will certainly hurt their brand more than it gives them any sort of gains.
DEL-LHR Return in Business Class used to be 1,08,000 miles, now 1,70,000 miles. Disaster. Will seriously consider moving away from ICICI Jet Card now. |
Thats the end of the AMEX/other JET cards. Now to move to Citi PM.
|
The online partner award form still shows the old miles required for partners. Has that been changed too?
|
Just checked and now its back to old mileage chart on domestic as well international route for 9w redemption !!!

Continuing from my earlier post, I talked to the head of JP, who explained to me that over the next 3 months a lot of changes are coming to the JP program, which will start with enhancements to accruals and on Sep 1 the redemption chart will see a hike, but YQ will go away.

With the above in mind, could we change the Thread Title to "JP Changes" or something similar, so as to keep track of all changes / modifications to come.
Got an email today about accruals: http://www.jetairways.com/EN/GL/JetP...nJPMiles1.aspx |
Thread title updated. Also added a wiki. Please feel free to update/edit.
Thanks, AJLondon Mod IbA |
No mention of earlier cabin bonus for Gold & Plats ( 20 & 30%)..It seems that they are gone. Also B class booking in 9W & Z in S2 are now with 75% & 50% miles repectively against 100% & 75% miles earlier

10% / 20% / 30% Bonus for Silver / Gold / Platinum members respectively. Cabin bonus is 50% in J & 100% in F irrespective of JP Status. |

Why redeem in Jet Premiere when for less you can get Jet First.
Only in the land of lala, you get the perverse situation of LHR flights in First costing 162K whilst the less private Premiere costs 170k. |

Are they kidding? 162k return for Premiere???? That means you need to take 114 return DEL-BOM flights to get one ticket to UK. For someone that flies once in a month that means 10 years! But then miles expire 3 years or so after they are earnt so you got no hope.
Glad I shifted 2 years back. It's actually worse....you need 170K to redeem (RT) in Premiere!!! |
The airline really seems desperate to kill off its program's remaining value to frequent flyers.
This kind of move by 9W after AI became a Star Alliance member helps cement my dumping of loyalty toward 9W for other carriers in India, especially for AI. |
On the positive side, there will be no YQ - does this apply to partner rewards as well?
|
with its ever decreasing customer service .. Jet can say bye bye to many frequent travellers and then this..

In that case, the JP miles would be more or less = 50 paise each. |

for domestic redemptions a lot of sectors will go down, for international they will go up. that is the summary of how redemption adjustments will happen. I was told email would go out on 1 august but not yet. maybe in a few more days then

So the new redemption chart is out..
http://www.jetairways.com/doc/Mileage-Chart.pdf Domestic redemptions have actually decreased across many metro sectors.. BOM-DEL is now 17k/8.5k in Y/J compared to 21/10.5. Similarly BOM-BLR is now 13/6.5 and BOM-MAA is 15/7.5 International redemptions have shot up but the YQ is fully taken off.. Cant search for the new redemptions and YQ charges yet. |

Any idea about how partner redemptions will change?

Time to dump!
Time to off load this load of crap and move to BA. Even with the surcharges taken off, there is no justification for the level of increase in the miles required for international redemptions! They'll be having more empty planes now. I think they listened to the complaints that people aren't ever able to get redemption seats, well there will be plenty available now ;)

This is insane increase. Some sectors the increase is more than 50%.
What just made my jaw drop is that a BOM-EWR in F now needs 450k miles for the round trip! |

Yup! DEL-HKG, DEL-SIN, DEL-LHR, DEL-YYZ etc all go up by at least 50% or more!! :td:

On one side airlines are offering discount on fares and people are travelling for cheaper that AC rail fares, on the other side they want their frequent travellers to go away to something else. |
I am looking at the new redemption chart. Does it make sense to use JP Miles for Economy redemption in International sector?
For eg: currently for economy redemption BOM-BKK one needs 20K miles + ~7.5K INR one way, which becomes 22.5K miles + ~1.5K INR Similarly for BOM-SIN sector, currently one needs 20K miles + 10K INR one way, which changes to 30K miles + ~2K. May be it makes sense to use JPMiles for last minute international economy redemption rather than business/first. |
