You don't have to be a FFP elite to get lounge access in the US or elsewhere in North America. While only some routes within the US come with lounge access based on business/first class, there are various other ways to get lounge access in North America without being a FFP elite.

Most US FFP elites -- even most of the the 75k+ mile flyers -- do not get comped lounge access for trips wholly within the US.

Hawaiian and Alaska have provided
lounge access to business/ first pax without status.

It is only on international business/first. On domestic First the exceptions are NYC to SFO/LAX as some airlines operate these routes with 3 class configured aircraft or on 2-class flights when the higher class provides international business seat/service.

if they were so concerned about reducing the allowance they should have made the 25kg allowance to 20kg long back. something funny here.

Jet Airways to start charging for additional services on Oman services

Jet Airways said from 01-May-2013, it will charge for some unbundled services to/from Muscat, with Jet Airways country manager for Oman Riyaz Kuttery explaining: "From May 1, the window and aisle seats in the economy cabin can be pre-assigned for a fee, which will vary from OMR2 to OMR4"

Has this been actually implemented..?

^ What about folks who have booked AI flights prior to this change at the old baggage policy for travel later in the year? And other airline flights as well, coz sooner or later all airlines will change policy. I think i saw Jet giving only 10kg checkin with some cheap fares as well...

What's the "Front Cabin"..?

I have recently been on a few 9W B737 flights that have 8J seats and rest Y configured in a single, straight 3x3 layout. They have also replaced the bulkhead (fabricated plastic / composite cabin divider) with curtains that are foot-long in length..!!

Jet Airways and JetKonnect have revised the free baggage allowance (FBA) to 15 kgs in Economy on all domestic travel within India, effective May 15, 2013. Cabin baggage will be restricted to seven kgs, as before.

JetPrivilege members will continue to enjoy the additional free baggage allowance as per their JetPrivilege membership status (Platinum / Gold / Silver), while Première guests would continue to avail 30 kg of free baggage allowance on Jet Airways and JetKonnect flights.

A flat rate of Rs. 250 per kg will be applicable for baggage over and above the free baggage allowance.
