A-380 at IGI

Do you think T3 at IGI airport in New Delhi can handle the giant A-380??
Lets consider three possibilities..

1) 50% load
2) 70% load
3) 100% load

As far as i remember T3 was built keeping A380 needs in mind but given that Govt. wont allow either Lufthansa or Emirates to bring one, it's open to ones interpretation :D

OZ or KE could fly them in...

From what I saw T3 can handle an A380 arrival hands down.

Lets not forget IT has 5 A380 on order :p:p:p

Well instead of ordering A-380, they should pay for fuel.. And which route do they plan on using the A-380

oliver2002 Oct 14, 2011 1:33 am

I don't think they even had a plan where to use them. BA or someone will probably pick the production slot.

Like Jetairways, who has subleased their 777 300ER to Thai, Gulf and TK. Kingfisher may also sublease their 380s to some of the foreign operators.

Nope, an A380 delivery requires that you cough a substantial amount of cash to get the key to the aircraft. IT (like AI for the 787) simply doesn't have the cash or credibility to raise the cash in the market at a decent interest rate.

+1

That's why they (KF) is delaying to take the delivery of 380. They have further pushed the delivery of first plane to 2015/2016.

It would be interesting to see whether this delay will serve any purpose for KF.

Isn't there some value in selling their space in the queue? Correct me if I'm wrong

I believe there is.. and most probably KF may already be exploring that option and only waiting for a suitable price..
