AI Miles crediting
I guess I have to ask since it is Air India
On my last flight ORD-DEL flying on AI126 I had provided them my (new) Flying returns number on checkin. The number shows on my Boarding pass. Someone was telling me that I still need to scan a copy of the boarding pass and send it to Air India for the miles to be credited?
Is that true? I tried checking on airindia.com but the Flying returns section is down since Saturday for maintenance.

My suggestion is the scan your BP and FR card and email both of them with a mileage credit request to [email protected]
Thats the email I last used. It might have changed since.

Over the last 2 years I have had 200K+ miles on AA and never once did I have to call them for missing miles.

So the flight was on the 23rd. Just checked online and ofcourse no credit. I guess that is the problem with Air India. The FF number was on the record. It shows on the boarding pass and still no automatic crediting? Thats whats wrong with AI.

actually, that is not the problem with ai....over the last 10 years i have never had a problem with getting miles credited....over the last couple of weeks they have going through an overhaul to combine the ic & ai codes....this is a prerequisite to their joining star alliance....the flying returns website was down all of last week....infact, it just came back online today....

Well it did not come back online with my miles. So that IS a problem. Specially if you read this thread all AI veterans have suggested scanning and emailing the boarding pass which is BS. In todays world if they cant track the miles on their own metal then how will anyone ever get United Miles (or other Star alliance miles) when the merger actually goes through. Really disappointed.
i have taken hundreds of flights with ai over the last 10 years & i can't remember more than a couple of occasions where the points didn't post on their own....& when they didn't post, i sent in the bp & they posted right after that....

In AI's case, atleast a scanned one does work till now ..
As Keyser has said, these are usually one off cases but it does happen ( and has happenned with me in OS and LH too ) ...

I am not sure whether u know or not.. but if ur miles are not automatically posted in LH led M&M then u need to send the original of the BP's to their office and a scan won't do..

That is not correct. I have faxed my boarding passes numerous times to LH offices in Santa Clarita and they've been credited always. Same for AI BP. I've actually emailed them and they've been credited. Since they are on AI metal and have a ticket number AI credits them. I've even been sucessful in crediting UA metal flights on MnM by faxing the BPs.
But from some other posts from the LH forum, I believe now they are pretty stringent on getting the original bp's because of some mischief from some folks.. Maybe LH US is still not stringent with this..

I've never faxed anything. I just email them after my flight to get the miles credited.
