Help

9w lost my bags in a flight Delhi-Colombo (this was one of the legs of an in-bound flight ex Dublin). The colombo luggage management company found the bags and they sent this back to Delhi where we are at the moment. The thing is i am flying BA back to Dublin today and I was wondering what is the best way to retrieve my bags. I have received no compensation or phone call back from 9w.

If someone has a contact number that would be great. I called a hundred times to 9w (different numbers as provided by the 9w people) with no luck.

When I get home, I will write a trip report of my delays and luggage nightmare with Jet airways and Lastminute.com

Thx

Your best bet would be to actually try and reach someone at Delhi Airport. Try and go early to the 9W counters, and talk to the staff - most likely your bags are held up in customs inspection which can be expedited if the passenger himself is present. The airlines are very limited in what they can do.

Thanks avm. I went to Delhi and they said they will send them home (Ireland).

While their in-flight service is very good, the ground staff and phone help-desk are terrible. I am sure I am going to fly Jet Airways long-haul anymore.

ps. I always enjoy your trip reports and I look forward to reading the next one.

glad it worked out....i would not give up on 9w if i were you....anyone can have a bad experience with any airline....9w are usually very good....

if i remember correctly, over the last several years i have had baggage problems with 9w, it, ai, ba, ek & aa....if i stopped flying all of them then i would be in trouble....

I have to agree with Saad on this one - 9W ground service is usually very good, especially if you are based in India and qualify for their concierge benefits (targetted and CIP's and regular fliers)... Also, had problems on Baggage with SQ of all airlines on a JFK-FRA single sector where one of my bags didnt arrive FRA and was lost for 3 days without any ability to reach SQ staff... My point is everyone has their bad days and as a very frequent 9W fliers who has a very strong love/hate relationship with them - the one thing I can testify to is their level of ground service in spite of pathetic infrastructure - so I urge you to give them another chance and hopefully you won't be disappointed.
