Any experience with IndiGo? Are they reliable?

LCC but exceptionally reliable.
You'll always be guaranteed a good consistent experience with them.

Thanks! For some reason I couldn't look at their flights on flight Aware. As long as they run relatively on time, I'm happy.

Bear in mind - most IndiGo flights arrive T1 / T2 in DEL and for transfer to INTL, you will have to bus/cab it WITH luggage (if not through checked) and the distance is fair bit - i'd leave aside another 30-40 mins just for this transfer.

Flew 6E for the first time BLR-PNQ-BLR recently. I splurged (in relative terms) with all the extras.
Check-in was easy, and with FFWD skipped the queues at both airports, which was really helpful.
PRBD (Quick Board) worked well in BLR once I realized it existed and I had it! In PNQ there was no line for this and I just boarded with Zone 1. In neither place was there a relevant announcement.
The seat is miserably uncomfortable. Barely any cushioning. Thank goodness the flights were just an hour and change each way.
The food - I pre-ordered a chicken tikka sandwich. The filling was fine, the bread was some weird mushy concoction. But stranger to me was that everybody else seemed to get a little cardboard baggie with a snack in it, plus a sandwich, whereas with my pre-ordered meal that I believe I paid extra for, I only got a sandwich. I have no idea what I missed or did wrong here! Or maybe they all pre-ordered something more intelligent than I did?
FFWD Baggage delivery worked well at both airports, my bag was amongst the first out.
All in all, as good an LCC experience as I've had anywhere. But the seat comfort is a showstopper. Definitely will only use as a last resort in future, or on a short flight where I can save $$.

How does the seat compare to Air India?

6E has those awful slimline seats. AI has much more comfortable cushioned seats.

Those sitting in front in 6E usually are on corporate fares, which entitles them to some food and a drink. The drink now a days comes in a funny shaped bag. Perhaps that's what you saw.
Your meal might have also included a drink, or maybe they need to be pre-ordered separately.

Awful. Possibly the worst I have sat on. Other slimline seats somehow have better cushioning than these.

That could well be it. I was offered a drink with my meal, but the choices were Coke or Frooti so I passed in both cases. Maaza, I'd have gone for...

You weren’t offered Paperboat drinks? That’s what is somehow always offered on my flights.

Don't know what those are, but wasn't offered that in any case! Just Coke or Frooti (or tea/coffee/water of course).

Frooti is an Indian mango drink that may or may not contain mango :-) See also Maaza, which I first encountered 30+ years ago and fell in love with at first taste (sugar+mango is a winner anytime, even more so when a child).
