Wht abt the price difference ;) I believe EK is mostly always cheaper than LH and by appx Eur 50-100 on a R/t trip unless we we manage to get the LH cheapest fares ( which is rare)..
I am looking at fares from CCU - PRG and VIE - CCU for personal travel ( for mom) in August and LH is not even coming close.. EK is the lowest from what I see now..Only problem with EK is the long stopever on the trip from CCU - PRG but otherwise it seems fine..Am thinking wht to do.. If u hv some specific info or advise, maybe u can pm me..Thanks :)

+1.. know of many CCU based folks who regularly take this and find it quite decent..

I didn't know that the JFK -> Del continued on to CCU. Guess I'll be taking that from now on.

Similarly I'm looking for PHX_BOM in Dec. for 2 weeks. Willing to fly asian/european route (although I could spend sometime with my sister in LHR) Looking for travel agent recc....

Do any airlines offer a discount for a 3 y.o?

Also I'm considering a OCI card instead of an indian visa. I have lost my expired Indian passport (naturalized in 92) Not looking foward to all the babu bureaucratic BS

Nope - it's just a flight search tool and a pretty good one at that. But you gotta talk to your agent/ airline. Make sure that you tell / better still show them the exact lingo printed on the itinerary if you want those rates.

Governments, like airlines, are just looking for opportunities to charge extra fees. Once you pay that, you'd be ok - till they find another reason. :)

One of my friends was looking for a round trip fare from CCU - JFK for his parents.. this site gave the cheapest fares ..ongoing in W class and return in L class.. but whn my friend called the agent ( and multiple agents) he was told that W class is not available at all  .. The return fares for the dates given was shown as Rs 48.5k approx on this site and he managed to book a ticket for 53k approx which was still lower than what other sites were showing him..^ but was surprised when these agents insisted tht W class is not available even when he forwarded the email from the site to them detailing the whole fare breakup :td:

sometimes web only fares don't show up on their systems....i have faced this issue before with jet & starwood....i'm sure other airlines & hotels have this issue too....

Availability shown by ITA maybe different because it sees the availability as point of sales in the US. If you call the airline in a different country the availability may be different.

yes, but my friend did call the AI office in US at the number mentioned.. They were not able to find this fare and from wht i was told, tht person was pissed off that my friend knew so much and said something like ''if u know so much, why dont u book it urself'' :( ..
will ask him to again call and try this with another US TA..:)
